Man, I just cant get it in my head to grab the handle on a three, I deffinetly get the spin, most of the time, way too much.. But I just cant make myself grab that dang rope.. any advice??

Are you pulling hard with both hands? Most common mistakes I see are that people pull too early and that they only pull with one hand. Concentrate on waiting until you have popped off the wake and pull HARD with both hands to your back hip. This will not only initiate the spin, but will allow you to get around and grab the handlepass. Don't even think about the spin, that will take care of itself, just focus on getting that handle in your hand.

-Steve

(maybe post in trick tips section?)

I do pull with both hands, I may pull to early though. It seems like I spin almost too much. I also may not be pulling the handle all the way to my hip.

Concentrate on jumping straight up. Too many people shoot across the wake, making the rope very tight. If you concentrate on popping straight up it will make handle much easier to get. Good luck, Mike

a good thing to think about is keeping the handle very close to your body. you can pull as hard as you want but you need to keep it in for a quick and easy handle pass otherwise you will start getting off axis and your lead hand will be trying to balance you when it should be making the pass.

I would agree with Steve here. I just landed 2 of my first 360's last week, after someone gave me the "pull with two hands" advice. Works 60% of the time, everytime.

Steve is right on...don't even think about spinning. Just pass the handle and everything else will take care of itself! Remember to keep your head up!

Tie your rope to a tree or post and practice in your yard, or better yet a tramp if you got one. Jump up in the air and spin around and practice your handle pass. The spin will take care of itself, just dont initiate it too early and concentrate on the handle pass. If you are over rotating, you are starting it too early. Another thing that helped me is to not take a huge cut into the wake, you really dont need it. Cut out 10-15 feet and take a slow, steady, progressive cut into the wake. Good Luck!!!
