Why is the clamp different on the 60 vs the 80, can you get the 60 with the 80 style clamp? does the 60 come with inserts to keep the clamp from gouging the tower.

the 80's come with the new TC2 clamps. it's available for the 60's as an upgrade though. the TC2 clamps come with colar inserts, not sure on the fixed mount clamps standard with the 60's though.

The 60's have little rubber inserts for around the teeth that need to be put on during install . make sure you specify that you need the tc2 for pro 60's .you need to change the mounting plate on the 60 vs the 80's

Seeeing as how the pro 60 is more of a price point speaker, I'd bet the diff clamp was a cost cutting measure.

sam is correct. The PRO 60 and PRO 80 share the same components in the driver with the 60 being a smaller cone. And also a bit smaller housing. But, the costs are the same in the manufacturing so the only place to take some out to be able to offer the 60 at a lower price is the clamp. Or they would be the same price. <BR> <BR>The 60 clamp comes with rubber caps that protect the tower. This clamp comes with the MB-8 as well. You can also upgrade the 60 or MB-8 to the Trick Connect 2 clamp. The TC2 clamp adds the rubber inserts, quick disconnect and built in swivel. I plan on adding more detail on our site with this info.
