Hey all.. just looking for advise for a new board for next year. A friend of mine is working for CWB and going to get me a new board cheap to try out. Just wondering what you guys think I should try out. Right now I ride a 04 gator gonzalas 138.. I would like to get something a bit longer, 141-144 I'm thinking. I'm 6' & 190, been riding only since this past spring. I'm still a beginner but moving up to intermediate.. can go wake to wake no prob, lots of w2w grabs, w2w 180s, surface 3s, working on w2w 3s right now.

Just looking for suggestions! Might get some new bindings to go with so suggestions on that would be cool too. Right now I have LF ultras and I love them..
Demo. If you can't, I Loooove my Transcend. I can't cut hard cause I'm a puss, but with the 3.3" of rocker, and a strong "ollie" pop, you get bucked.
Can't comment on the boots other than they look amazing. Can't wait to try the hinge tech.

Absolute platinum 141 or the Trancend 142.

Thats the thing.. I can't demo it but I am getting a board so cheap anyways. Pretty much getting to demo the board then keep it for next to nothing. That's three votes for the absolute.. keep 'em coming. How about flame? Anyone ridden one?

absolute platinum absolutely

I'd say at your level you can't go wrong with either the Absolute or the Flame. I wouldn't say you need Platinum, unless you are really getting it for close to nothing. The Flame is the Absolute from '04 and is slightly faster with less rocker and a slightly less aggresive pop.

Biggest diff between those two boards imo is that the 04 Absolute/Flame is a looser than the 05/06 Absolute.

After reading about the boards, how does the absolute work with a thin tip/tail? How is it for landings, still forgiving? I want a board with lots of pop, want to get more air to do bigger tricks. Don't get to ride behind boats with a huge wake so I need all the help I can get for air. Leaning towards the absolute now.. anybody ride both the ab and the trancend and tell me the difference between them? Thanks

04 absolute\flame is my next board.I already got HL,LF and now it's time for CWB.Definetly new flame\04 absolute just not sure of the binding I'm gonna put on it.Any suggestions on some sick CWB binding?

mango 09-11-2005 2:57 PM

the sickest cwb binding is the new zues, doesn't get any better than that.

stuey 09-11-2005 10:15 PM

What's the big difference between the 04 absolute and the 05 or 06?

guido 09-12-2005 8:17 AM

I'm adding to my previous thoughts..... The Marius is sick, too. Finally rode it this weekend. It's a ton of fun. Looks like I'll be riding it some more.

I have an Absolute Platinum and love it. Great pop and nice landings. A little slow. I rode the Transcend a few weeks back and loved it. I think I am gonna get an 06 once they are out. But the Transcend and the Absolute ride totally different. The way the Transcend pops you is something you have to get used to. It tracks really well too.
