need help on getting the right speed for pulling a wakeboarder up. I always feel like I am being pulled over the board when my driver starts out! I feel like he is going to fast bc he is use to pulling up skiers. Any suggestions. If speed doesn't matter any good tips on getting up?

bring your knees up to your chest as much as possible. wrap your arms around your knees like you would for a cannonball. have your driver tow you around just above idle and get used to the feeling of keeping the board in front of you. after your comfortable like this have the driver slowly apply throttle. keep the board in front and dont panic or try to stand up and youll pop right up.

It's very key for the driver to be paying attention and know how to pull a wakeboarder up. When i am towing new riders, or any riders for that matter, I make sure to really watch them while I get the boat going. I start out by getting them the rope and the slack out of the line. Then, I shift it into gear and watch for them to get a little pull thru the water, then I gently ease the throttle forward and watch as they start to rise out of the water. For some bigger riders, I will juice it a little to help pop them up, for smaller riders, I really take it easy and just let them slowly pop up. An alert driver can definitely make a huge difference in getting riders up....
