so this is my first time owning ct boots. question is after a few times of in and out of the water, are these things gonna stink after awhile? wet liner+feet= stink?

not really, i keep my board in my car and it still smells ok. what starts to stink is your vest

nwsjake10 10-08-2007 1:26 PM

eh, ive got the Ronix one bindings, and everytime i leave that thing in my car after i ride it smells like crap, i suggest to take it out after every ride..or toss it in the truck bed..but from my experiences it does stink when you put them in the car when done riding..

i let mine dry out but they still smell a lil funky. they dont smell so bad to where you cant stand to be around them but if you actually smell the insede of the boot, it does get a lil musty

jealous_soul 10-08-2007 1:40 PM

even my open toe era's smell. whenever i leave my board in the car for more than a day, it smells like a trash can.

They have to have some air flow. set them on your air vents at home so that the air is blowing in them, they should be dry by morning with out the stink

waketrix101 10-08-2007 4:38 PM

if you leave them in your car then it will smell!

The ones get funky!!! On the plus side, you won't grind your toes off on a weird slider fall.

5 mos in mine, no odor, but do not leave in the car
Watson CT

my Ronix Cells got funky too same as the ones. I had Shanes last year and they never smelled. I will be trying the 08 cells this year and if they smell again i'll be switching.

I had the 07 ONE's and they started to stink pretty bad, I actually started to stuff bounce fabric softner sheets into the boot to cover the smell cuz I leave my board in the house. I now have the RELIKS, we'll see what happens with these.

07 Shane CT since Jan. No odor whatsoever.

My Ronix 1s started-out ok, but then I used them in salt water, pretty much put them right into a board bag,
and then that board bag was locked in a hot closed van. When I took them out the next day, OMG! They
reeked like cat spray! I've washed them in the tub with soap and baking soda, I only use them in fresh water,
and I always leave them outside to dry, but I still can't totally get rid of that funk. Nasty nasty nasty.

I would agree on the Ronix boots. But I ride on the Delta. The water isn't exactly clean and pure.

cpetersen 10-09-2007 11:47 AM

i've got the shanes and thats what i wanted to hear bbower haha

bbower 10-09-2007 12:59 PM

No prob. The key to havin non-assmelling boots, vests...all that stuff, is bein dry. Might be just me but i've noticed that the shane's dry REALLY quick. after a set they are dry in like 15 mins.
