Anybody made an airdam for the walk through on the bow?

Thinking on making a slide in air dam for my Sport Nautique. Curious as to whether anybody has made one. What material did you use, acrylic, HDPE etc? Any pics appreciated

My Enzo has an Acrylic airdam. Do you want me to take some pictures of it this weekend if it would help?

I have a Sanger V210 that has cushioned sides in my walk-through. I didn't want to mess up the cushioned vinyl by taking on some slides for the plexiglass. So, I just came up with something very simple. It works great.

I have done this too, very easy. make a mold out of cardboard and go to your nearest plastics shop (such as TAP Plastics) and they will cut and sand you exactly what you want... it isn't very expensive either.

i had a local company make one.....with measurements they will make you one and in a ton of shapes....give them a call - Precision Plastics in Clovis, CA

I have the facilities to make one myself - just curious as to how people have manufactured theirs and what material was used. Any pics would be useful. Thanks

yep I used some 1/2" aluminum channel for the guides/ mount. Had a local plastic shop cut the wind dam from tinted acrylic and used some Velcro loop to line the channel looks just like a factory install

i made one for my Bu because it didn't have the original when I bought it. The channels were already there so i just made a cardboard cut out of the space and cut up some plexi to fit. I bought a 4x8 sheet of tinted plexiglass online somewhere, enough so i would have extra if i needed it. I may make another since I've already scratched mine. It was really easy and you can cut it with woodworking tools, it makes a huge mess so be warned. I may have some pictures but it looks just like the stock ones expect i didn't add the hole/handle as i didn't see the point.

Harold, your installation looks exactly like my Enzo factory with the exception that Centurion added a fuzzy material inside the channel to protect the acryllic from being scratched. Great job.

H20King, spooky, just ordered some tinted acrylic and 1/2 anodised U channel today.... Guessing it may look similar

Carzin my boat is a centurion so I just copied what the factory did. I also lined the inside of the channel with the fuzzy side of some Velcro so it looks factory and does not scratch the wind dam.

Admittedly, my boat is 2 decades old, but it just uses vinyl. It attaches with snaps, just like the bow cover. I think it has like 9 to 12 total snaps and really doesn't take very long to throw on. Big plus is that it takes virtually no room to store.

A bit old school, but works well.

Attachment 30522Here is mine. Had a plastic shop cut the piece and they made the rails too. Love it!

Okay, you got me, that just looks badass with the stickers.

I have a playpen though, so if did one, it would not go to the floor but would have to have a stop just so it wasn't resting on the cushion... Hmmm

Thanks! Stickers help the dog realize it is in and keeps her from walking into it.:D

Finally got round to making mine. 12.5mm U section, 5mm perspex, a tin of paint, a router and a heat gun. Prob took 2-3 hrs in total
