Installing a Wetsounds Syn4 in a VTX dry locker

What is the best method to secure it?

Screws to the amp rack.

Not the hull.

I haven't had a chance to look in my dry storage to see if there is anything that stands out as an amp rack, what should I look for. The hull thing is why i ask

Move carpet out of way.

Glue some plastic strips of 1x1 or so material to hull with strong glue.

Make amp board to mount to these strips.

Mount amp to board.

What types of plastic strips do you reccomend or use? I'm going to be doing this with a little help form an expert, but mostly by myself. The project itself isn't all that big. I'm adding 2 pro60's, a xs10fa, a syn4 to power those and a ws420. All in all not exactly and experinced installer

No offense but if you don't know how to secure the amp in the boat you'll have no clue how to properly tune it once it's in. I'd leave this one up to a pro.

The tuning part is going to be done by an expert, then I have to do all the grunt work................ Fun fun

In a VTX you should mount your amps on the back wall of the passanger side storage compartment, the wall that the bow seat backs share with the compartment.

You will need to use 1.5 inch screws, there are 2 walls you need to penetrate in order to get a good grip. Malibu constructs this wall with 2 layers of glass and foam between them 1.5 will penatrate both fiberglass walls and not break the interior seat back wall that the vinyl attaches to.

Good Lucky!

Thank you, that's very helpful.

the nice cutting boards work well if you don't want to create a rack. you can glue it after removing carpet
