HSE replacement?

I haven't been on here as much as I used to be, so I might have missed the next big thing.

My HSE stopped working last year and it really sucks! I contacted the owner but he said they weren't repairing anything.

Does anyone know if it can be fixed? If not, what's the next best thing? Trying to keep up with the volume control after being spoiled by the HSE is grating on me already.

I don't know of anything other than some apps on your phone that do the same thing just not as well.

I've got one I've never wired in. I'll double check this weekend. I recall that there were two volume control options, and I bought one and never finished wiring it.

What is HSE?

Get a Boost Box - I looked at all the App's some work, some don't, most require you to be plugged using your AUX. Then they don’t support I-pod, USB Drives, Hell CD’s ( if anyone still uses them) etc...

I installed the Boost Box and went to the lake for a week following Memorial Day, I was blown away at how well it works. OK it’s no HSE but it is a very simple device, but it works great. I installed mine on top of Sub under the dash not very convent for adjusting but I never had to adjust it, I set to once and forgot all about it.

This was the first trip where we weren't fumbling for the remote to turn the Stereo up and down.

Not Perfect - but I have Zero complaints

Okay, I researched enough to find out:

Never new they existed.

And the boost box seems interesting.

Might also look into some apps that are speed based volume control.

I've used all three (boost box, hse, gps phone app).

You'll have to pry my hse from my cold dead fingers.

My HSE stopped working and I had it fixed at a local electronics shop. Give it a try.

camassanger 06-06-2014 10:16 PM

Im with Shawndoggy. Ive used all three too, and the HSE is the best.

joesell 06-06-2014 11:43 PM

How much did it cost to get fixed? What did they say was wrong with it?

hatepain 06-07-2014 7:55 AM

I had forgotten about the boost box.

Can't remember what was wrong but the guy ordered a part and installed it. Around $100 all in.
