Everyone keeps saying tramps and handles on dry land are awesome for learning. Can I just tie part of a crappy rope to a tree 10 feet away from my tramp and attach a handle and go for it?

I think so, why not, just make sure the rope is durable enough for u to really pull on it

That works just fine, just make sure it is the right length and tight enough. I put an eye hook an the room of my garage and let me tell you, I pulled real hard to try a 7, and pulled the eye hook right out of the roof and fell off the tramp. That ish hurt a lot. Make sure its tight on that tree.

What happened to Mark probably could have been a lot worse. Imagine if he were trying a raley. Make sure your rope is secure and go for it.
