Most people I ride with or others that have ridden with me know I am a board whore. I can pretty much can ride almost any board and make it look like I can ride it but truly I haven't been one with a board sence I rode a super squirt but there is no way I can ride that board due to the knees. It seems like one board will do all my inverts and then another will spin good but I have yet to find one that will do all of them with out working for it. Anyone else feel this way? Also how long have you stayed on a board till you dial it in. Or am I just tripping again?

dakid 09-25-2005 9:24 PM

1. no board comes with spins or inverts. <BR> <BR>2. if you have to get used to a board, or dial it in like you said, it's not the board for you. <BR> <BR>3. i usually know after 2 runs if a board's for me or not. <BR> <BR>4. yes, you're trippin' again. quit analyzing so much. you'd be a pro by now if you weren't so analytical.

twakess 09-25-2005 9:45 PM

joe, maybe you just need to come up here and kick my a$$. Just seems like I am still searching for the board and I can't find it. I am looking for a board that has a clean pop that won't kick you back off the top of the wake and is fast to the wake. Plus a shorter board so it dosn't have drag in the air.

chas 09-25-2005 10:08 PM

Squid, have you rode a balance? <BR> <BR>Oh and by the way, Chris went wake to wake and rode it out today. He kicked butt.

jjakober 09-26-2005 7:32 AM

Have you tried any of O'Briens boards? <BR> <BR>The Valhalla, Demented, Natural and Vice are all great boards that offer different riding characteristics. If you haven't found the right board maybe it's because you haven't tried an O'Brien!!!<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/wink.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR>Later, <BR>jjakober

guido 09-26-2005 10:23 AM

Squid, you're definitely trippin'. No one I know goes through as many boards as you. I usually give a board a week of riding to determine if I really like it. Usually the first time I ride it I'm really pumped to be riding something new. If that stoke stays, then its a good board for me. If it fades I'll keep looking. I am yet to find any board that I absolutely swear by and wont get off. <BR> <BR>So far my tops are: <BR> <BR>'05 absolute, '04 substance, '02 premier, and '01 byerly.... Those are the boards that I've liked enough to ride for a full season. Pretty sure I'm going into a second season on the Absolute but this time I'm thinking platinum.

twakess 09-26-2005 10:44 AM

Even, yep thats what happens I get stoked then it dies. Then I also loose tricks them it sometimes. I do keep going back to a substance but its just a little slow and lands hard. I have heard some good things about the LF team I will give that one a go sometime soon.

audiopro74 09-26-2005 10:49 AM

Squid <BR> Anytime you want to let me know and you can try out my team. I know its a little long for you but it should still give you the feel for what one rides like.

bigpapaf1f 09-26-2005 10:51 AM

Its hard to find that 1 board! That one that you can't live without. Boards will come and go, but I think that everyone has there one true love. I lost my shot at love. For me it was the '02-03 byerly!<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/sad.gif" border=0> I had five of them, it was a sad day in my life when I broke the last one. I have a substance now that I love, but if someone made that mold again I would make the switch. I don't care what company it is. <BR> <BR>Whats up Evan!! Oct. 8-9! My Houseboat!!!!! You down??

ccryder 09-26-2005 11:21 AM

You know what board is my love. I just wish it wouldn't kill my knees in the flats. It will be interesting to see what it is like on the 140. If you just keep listening to me Squid, you'll figure it out.

twakess 09-26-2005 11:25 AM

Jim, I hope one of these days it will all come together. So I can ride like I want to but I know with out felling right on a board it wont happen.

audiopro74 09-26-2005 11:56 AM

Jim speaking of the 140, I didn't forgrt. It's in the front seat of my truck as we speak. Come by and get it.

twakess 09-26-2005 11:58 AM

Ha,haha I am going to laugh my a$$ if you like it Jim.

mvda 09-26-2005 12:51 PM

Squid, Try the LF Team. It was the first board I really really liked after getting off the Necrasson Super Squirt 128. I still have that Super Squirt if you need to borrow it.

guido 09-26-2005 1:01 PM

----Sorry Squid, thread hijack---- <BR> <BR>Hey BG..... Bad weekend, Billy's bachelor party. Otherwise I'd be down for sure. I'm sure we'll figure out a few weekends we can hook up come winter time. Hey, did you get the last two e-mails I sent you last week? Gimme a call.

bigpapaf1f 09-26-2005 1:17 PM

Ya, I sent you one back, you must not have got it. I was out of town last week for work. I will give you a call. Later bro <BR>

twakess 09-26-2005 2:07 PM

haha, Matt thats what I have been afraid of. I still have my old super squirt. Man that baby did mobes like nobodys business. I miss that board but you can't ride it on the big wakes now it crashes right threw them.

dukeboy 09-26-2005 4:05 PM

Squid-I think the whole board whore concept for you is what makes you Squid. I've known you for 10+ years and I'm beginning to think that you wouldn't be Squid unless you were whoring around with different boards. Plus, your board whoring, really makes a good conversation piece on WW and the wakeboard community. So, take this weakness and turn it into a strength and apply at wakeboard mag or alliance or something equivalent and be a professional board tester. You have years of experience and you probably have faced every wakeboard disease known to man. You're a seasoned veteran.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/biggrin.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR>(Message edited by dukeboy on September 26, 2005)
