okay this may sound like a slightly stupid question <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/lol.gif" border=0> but in regards to a board with fins on the bottom, would you ladies say it is easier to ride as a beginner with or without them?? I've heard both sides of the argument but am not 100% convinced either way. thnx a bunch.

I just started last year on a CWB Saphire board with the stock fins, took them off about halfway through the summer at the advice of some guys I was riding with cuz I was working on learning surface 180s, and it was pretty squirly. My instructor gave me some smaller fins (0.7s) and that seems to be working really well. I think I've been able to improve my edging better with them on, have better control, and it's still pretty easy to do 180s. I'm definitely not a seasoned wakeboarder, but that's what's worked for me so far. Hope that's helpful!!

Definitely use them as a beginner. It is ok to take them off if you are working on edging drills, backslides, and surface 180's. It will be squirley but you want that for surface drills behind a slow boat. When up to speed, def. easier with them on. They are like training wheels and just helps learning how to ride much easier.
