Boat drops to idle when crossing big wake
I posted this before but I assumed it was perfect pass issue. It is not a perfect pass problem. Anyway it happened twice yesterday. I was pulling my son with PP engaged and when I crossed a large wake the boat dropped to idle. You could not move the throttle and engage the prop unless you turned the boat off and restarted it. It did the same thing again when I was not pulling anyone, just riding with the PP turned off. Any thoughts on what may be the problem?

my mechnic thought it may the "pedal position switch" whatever that is. He has not had a chance to look at it as he is an hour away.

I was thinking something with the neutral saftey switch, since it wouldn't let move the throttle, but I really have no idea. I would just eat the hour drive and take it in to the dealer.

they had bad TPS switches, if you have DTC, digital throttle control
it will cause a code, no alarm |
I have an 05 Xstar that does the exact same thing. It is going to the dealer next week for the problem. It makes it very difficult to cruise across rough water. When the boat drops to idle and its rough the bow goes under the waves. Not very safe.

I thought it might be the safety lanyard so last year i hard wired it. Didn't do anything.

once you plug it into computer
the TPS shows bad high low voltage you can test this with a volt meter |
fixed- my dude at Fla Inboard found a loose wire at the fuse box. No charge for the repair. He rocks
