I need a barefoot boom for my Air 210TE. I noticed that BI has both pylon and tower attached booms. Has anyone used the tower boom? It looks more adjustable, but looks like a pain to put on and take off.

I had the same dilemma and went with the standard boom. I'm not an engineer - but I was worried about the torsional (sp?) forces on the tower from the tower boom. Maybe that's not a valid concern - but why take the chance.

I used a Bi Tower boom last year. As far as I am concerned it is the only choice for a V drive.

Advantages
No boom in the boat nothing to climb over
it is very solid no bounce back
With a V drive it puts you up to the front of the boat away from all the side spray.

Disadvantages
much harder to put on
much harder to adjust height of the boom

IF you own an inboard I would go with a regular boom. If you own a V drive the Tower boom is the only way to go IMHO

I agree with Kevin.
I use the BI Tower boom on my VLX.
Best way to go for a V drive.

Ken
