Best truck bed cover?
Looking at getting a bed cover for my truck. I would prefer one that rolls up or is retractable rather than a one piece hard top, but I am open to all ideas. Have been looking at the Roll n Lock and Retrax along with a few others. Let me know what y'all have and if you like it, etc... Thanks!

I have Retrax. Great cover.

My parents have the fold a cover. Segmented to have a front and rear. I've borrow the truck and opened the cover to move furniture and whatnot without any issues. Keeps the boards out of site and easy rear access to get them out.
They did say after a few years it is starting to leak and will have to look into that. http://www.foldacover.com/ |

Anything you can get that is like the Avalanche / Escalade EXT covers would be fantastic. Easy on/off, durable, strong enough to walk on, weather tight...overall great design.

I have a Gaylords fiberglass tonneau cover that's real nice. That being said, my next truck will have a Bakflip. Love the clean, finished look of the glass cover but hauling oversized items is a pain.
|
X3 for the Bakflip. Had the G2 and now the fibermax. Would recommend the fibermax, takes hail impact way better.
|
extang solid fold - super nice

I have the undercover flex, very clean look, love the trifold and always use it to haul lumber and other oversize stuff. Just like the g2 but doesn't rest against the cab when fully folded up. I don't like the one piece covers. Anytime ur hauling oversize items its like ur driving down the road with ur trunk open. Just looks silly for a truck...

Roll n Lock
Depends on your usage of the bed. |
I've got a Pace Edwards Jackrabbit on my dually. Works well for me, but if I needed a toolbox or fuel tank, it would be in the way. That's the one that rolls into the box. I do like the fact that it sits low and doesn't stick up above the bedrails.

I also have a backflip G2 and I love it. It's tough, looks good, is secure with the tailgate locked, and removes in 30 seconds.
I had one of the rollup ones for a few weeks but returned in for the sake of poor craftsmanship. The latches were plastic instead of metal. It was flimsy, and the rubber seals were cut and glued with total disregard for aesthetics. For a thousand dollars, it was ****. |
What about the guys with dirtbikes? Does the Fold a Cover come completely off?

I just looked at the G2, the biggest downside is that you loose all visibility out of the back window when its folded up. How hard is it to pull it off?
|
I can have my Undercover Flex off in about 5 mins without tools. I assume the backflip is similar

I have a Truxedo on mine and love it!

I have the Extang Full Tilt on my truck. Had it for 6 years now and Extang has amazing customer service for replacing broken parts and normal wear and tear. I like the soft cover so that I can roll it up if I need to or you disconnect the gas shocks and the whole cover comes off in 1 piece.

This one looks to be one of the best I have seen. I have had a roll n lock, hard fiberglass, and a retrax and this seems to do everything you need.
