i just sold my subaru STI, and now im looking into getting a truck. My dad is going to let me start taking our boat out this summer and my friend just bought a ski nautique that we will be using as well. I am looking into getting a dodge but the majority of them in my price range have the 4.7l motor, not the 5.7 hemi. Is the power difference going to kill me while towing? The largest boat i will be towing is a 20 ft 1999 ski nautique. Im not worried about towing my boat, its only a 17 foot outboard. also, how is the gas mileage difference between the two? im just worried if i will need the bigger motor for everyday driving and towing, or will i even notice a difference. Please let me know your guys opinions if you have any experiences with either motor.

There is a difference. But it will tow both boats fine. Mileage on the hemi is about the same normally. But hemi is better when not towing due to MDS.

Definitely try and get the Hemi, but if you cant find a good one for the money, the 4.7 will still pull a 20ft boat no problem
