working on w2w's consistently..and ts 180's.wanna start doing grabs soon..I have noticed from video I am flattening out before wake and not standing tall at wake either. (only see that stuff when I watch the vid in slow mo) comes in handy!

if anyone see s anything else ...chime in!

I would like to try to have at least 1 grab before wakeboard camp. and i think that everytime i have posted a video on ww lotsa of posters pointed out my progressive edge *which is getting better* and the handle in to hip...so I thought who better to go to for advice than those who watch the videos!

this is after 7 months of riding total, ever.

so here it is:

http://www.angisimpson.com/420/420EMPIRE.com%20Videos/Angi%20W2W=vol.1=420EMPIRE.com=.wmv
Well, you know what the problems are and what you need to do to fix them...just go out there and apply what you know.

What you should do is don't think about doing w2ws...just do 1 wake jumps, and concentrate on standing tall, and keeping handle close. Keep doing that. Once you get the feeling down, take it bigger and bigger. Next thing you know, you're doing it, w2w.

As for grabs, indy grabs are the easiest ones to do. Think about bringing knees up to your chest and reaching down for the board. Keep doing that as well as trying to slap the board. You'll learn to ride w/ 1 hand. Just keep doing it...you'll be grabbing in no time.

Hi Angi!

There are two things you should notice in your video.
First thing, you are holding the handle in front of your chest, all the way through the cut. Try to hold the handle down through the cut, and when you leave the wake, then push it all the way down.
The other thing is that you absorbs the wake/pop. Notice your legs when you leave the wake, they are pushed up. When that happens, you absords the pop = no height at all. Try not to bend down that much. Try stand a bit taller through the cut, and when you are at the bottom of the wake, then start to stand tall up through the wake. At the same try make your board cut up through the wake. Imagine that you want your board (the tip of it) to fly up in sky, instead of make it fly over the other wake. But remember at the same to have tension in the line. A good idea is to start at 70' line, and then focus on getting the right pop over 1 wake into the middle. When you have the right feeling and getting the height and length, then shorten the line to 60', and it should be peace of cake, clearing both wakes. I hope it will help you. Good luck.

Nice riding!

Your hs cut actually looks pretty good if you ask me. It's all about standing tall at the wake. I agree with Casper, don't crouch quite so much, but then crouch down a little more as you hit the trough, and then push your chest up as you ride up the wake, to a full extension just as you are leaving the wake. All the while, keep that handle in and stay on your edge. Roll your knees forward throughout the cut, which seems to make it easier to hold the edge and stand tall at the same time.

work on your TS wake jumps, the TS w2w 180 is easier than the HS w2w 180.

Hey Angi,

Try keeping on edge to the top of the wake. You do flatten out a little at the wake, which is exactly what I do too. I am working on shorter cuts with the handle in tight.

As for grabs, I usually drop my back hand especially on TS cuts, so it's free to grab. Indy is easy, and I am working on tail.

Good luck...looking good

Eric

Thanks guys...I really do appreciate the feedback. I am the kind of person that if I read something I will be more apt to remember it..rather than me just hearing it while I am floating in the water (worrying about a gator snapping my behind!!)

I am having a problem with the 'timing of the pop'. I think if I do it all, I am doing it way too soon. I guess knowing when to do it will come with more experience.

Ok I am gonna take all this info out with me sunday and apply it!

grizzle---its ON!

Your HS cuts are looking great Angi! I have seen a few of your recent videos and your cuts are looking alot better. Everyone is hitting it dead on. The two things that jump out at me the most are your handle position and that you don't stand tall at the wake. I was doing the same things until I read how to correct them on here .

To practice, don't take such a big cut. As the others said, take short cuts and practice your timing on 1 wake jumps. Practice keeping the handle down at your waist, then as you ride up the wake stand tall. Even taking a 5 foot cut and working your way out from there, once you get the feel of standing tall and your handle position, it is easy to transition it W2W. Peace.

Jb

Thanks Josh...check out the newest vid..I progressed alot this past week (IMO)

AWESOME!!! Yes, you are progressing very well. You could still move your handle a little lower on your HS cuts, but that looked great. Don't be afraid to charge it. Those cuts where you really pumped your legs at the wake you got huge pop, but I think it made you a little scared didn't it? Don't be afraid girl, keep charging it!

Jb
