I have a 2005 Sanger v-210 which I just bought last month and I have noticed that there is about a 3-4 MPH discrepency between my perfect pass and what the speedometer is reading. I just wanted to see if anyone else has this same problem and which one should be more accurate.
PerfectPass doesn't come calibrated, you can set it up to read whatever you want. I would just match it to your speedometer.
|
I've noticed the same problem with my '06 sanger v-210. I would have thought that perfect pass didnt need to be calibrated as the paddle wheel turns the same speed no matter what boat its in correct? Jeremy, is your speedo faster or slower than the PP?
|
Both the speedo and PP need to be calibrated when brand new. A hand held GPS is the easiest thing to use. If you do not have one then you need a known distance (slalom course) and stop watch.
|
You think a $40k boat would already have this done.

they usually are done by the factory. For example....Nautique calibrates all there boats at 36 mph. I am very particular in making sure both of my speedo are working and reading accurately. Like T- said I would calibrate your speedos. I ended up buying a Magellin 300. The smallest, cheapest GPS handheld you can get. The reason is because I wanted it for the MPH feature. I calibrate both speedos at what nautique does....36 MPH. Then I calibrate it at the wakeboarding speed I like which is 21.5 mph. Then its dialed. I can get both speedos on my boat within 1/2 MPH of accuracy. The old water pickups like I have only get so accurate. The MC's paddle wheels are more accurate.

duncan if i ever get the GPS unit we bought my dad for his birthday figured out and you feel the need to calibrate your speedo you might just have to invite me out

Duncan my speedometer reads lower than the PP.
|

Getting close to having the break in hours done Blair! after that, we are ready to go!

I have the same problem with mine, the speedo is 5mph faster than the pp. But I believe my speedo is off because it reads us pulling at 25-30mph--us novice. How do you calibrate the Speedo? I have a 05 SAN 210.
Thanks

Buy or borrow a hand held gps unit and claibrate both units. More than likley neither is right
