LOL - she really did a lot for ebay.

Her ideas on education are absurd, anyone who proposes that there is ANY reasonable way to give higher pay or bonuses to, "higher performing teachers", is an idiot and understands nothing about how schools are set-up. It's almost impossible to have any equity or way of discerning who is performing higher even within schools.
|
Idiot, I think not.

I am a conservative. I like her other than the education views. I agree with David. The teacher who works at a school in a lets say lower income area, that has a lot of gang problems, and has the students who dont care about school, nor do their parents, are going to be paid less then a teacher who works at a school where parents are involved. It doesnt work. Teachers who are lazy should be held accountable, but dont punish a teachers pay because of lazy students, or because of parents who dont care about education.

Jeff- think it through...

Craig- you are right on, this even happens within schools. Here's the other thing, if you base it on improvement of the students, then the teacher with the good students does not stand a chance because their kids won't show gains... it can't be done, it just sounds good politically.

(Message edited by dcdave56 on February 03, 2010)

it can't be done, it just sounds good politically.

But standardized testing is foolproof and a fine indicator of a child's status and capabilities.

David
All I was saying is that I don't think she is an idiot, that's all.
