I'm having a tough time deciding on a boat for this year. I already have a slip in Folsom Lake so it'll be in the water primarily. I have seen some new Air Warriors for 30 with just a tower, no ballast or V-drive. Ultimately I'd really like a V-drive but I can't seem to find anything under 30 worth while. Plus the new with a warranty seems like it might be the way to go. What would you do?

longgonebon 03-13-2007 2:39 PM

Mike, if my budget was $30K I would buy a used boat, and you should be able to get something nice. you could try to talk this guy down a little <a href="http://sacramento.craigslist.org/boa/292285358.html" target="_blank">http://sacramento.craigslist.org/boa/292285358.html</a> <BR>or spend a little and buy this <a href="http://sacramento.craigslist.org/boa/289975512.html" target="_blank">http://sacramento.craigslist.org/boa/289975512.html</a> <BR>point is, there are lots of good options in that price range, but you wont' find a good v-drive new for that money.

sanger v-210 or DLX, sport or super sport nautique, would be what i would look for in that price range... heres a few diferent boats on cl right now.. <BR> <BR><a href="http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/boa/291424538.html" target="_blank">http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/boa/291424538.html</a> <BR> <BR><a href="http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/boa/290808477.html" target="_blank">http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/boa/290808477.html</a> <BR> <BR><a href="http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/boa/291315820.html" target="_blank">http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/boa/291315820.html</a> <BR> <BR><a href="http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/boa/289683099.html" target="_blank">http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/boa/289683099.html</a>

longgonebon 03-13-2007 2:56 PM

liquidmx 03-13-2007 2:59 PM

You get A LOT of used boat for 30K the trick is waiting for the right deal and being patient.

longgonebon 03-13-2007 3:11 PM

use Craigslist and <a href="http://www.boattraderonline.com" target="_blank">www.boattraderonline.com</a>

skier12 03-13-2007 3:13 PM

Without a doubt I would look really hard at this boat. <BR> <BR><a href="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/8/396173.html?1166756956" target="_blank">http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/8/396173.html?1166756956</a> <BR> <BR><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Sanger-V210-Wakeboard-Boat_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ63686QQitemZ280092 516932QQrdZ1" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Sanger-V210-Wakeboard-Boat_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ63686QQitemZ280092 516932QQrdZ1</a> <BR> <BR>Just a disclaimer I do not know this guy at all. <BR> <BR>He is a fellow wakeworlder who has been trying to sell his boat for a few months now unfortunately for him its winter. The price of 28k is an amazing deal on a loaded boat that has a proven wake. He has got it on ebay now so I would jump on this one quick. Goodluck with the search.

closedtoe 03-13-2007 4:37 PM

I would get that 2000 Air Nautique.

05mobiuslsv 03-13-2007 4:45 PM

Dude I'd get the VLX or the Sanger, you'll regret getting a D-drive if you don't have to.

attila916 03-13-2007 6:02 PM

I would get Shermans Sanger!!! <BR><a href="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/8/396173.html?1166756956" target="_blank">http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/8/396173.html?1166756956</a>

03-13-2007 7:32 PM

there are many 210s, sangers and older x-stars for that kinda coin.

bowmanm98 03-13-2007 8:18 PM

How many hours on that '03 Sanger? Do you think he'd take 26k and deliver it to Folsom? Does it come with factory ballast in addition to the fat sacs? <BR> <BR>(Message edited by bowmanm98 on March 13, 2007)

longgonebon 03-13-2007 9:43 PM

i wouldn't expect people to deliver a boat to you... and I'd drive whatever you buy before you buy it.

henderwake 03-13-2007 9:44 PM

I'm in the same "boat" as you, looking for a v-drive in the $25-30K range. I have seen a few, but you've got to be ready to pull the trigger on a good deal. check out <a href="http://www.onlyinboards.com" target="_blank">www.onlyinboards.com</a> too. Supra, Sanger, Moomba, Calabria, and Tige seem to have good boats near this price range.

bftskir 03-13-2007 10:02 PM

heres a nice malibu corvette model in stockton if you want a fast boat <BR><a href="http://villagewestyachtsales.com/core/listing/pl_display_photo.jsp?&amp;hosturl=villagewest&amp; slim=broker&amp;boat_id=1608359&amp;boatname=20+Ma libu+Corvette+Limited+Edition&amp;photo_revised_da te=1161068400000&amp;photo_name=Photo+1&amp;photo= 1&amp;url" target="_blank">http://villagewestyachtsales.com/core/listing/pl_display_photo.jsp?&amp;hosturl=villagewest&amp; slim=broker&amp;boat_id=1608359&amp;boatname=20+Ma libu+Corvette+Limited+Edition&amp;photo_revised_da te=1161068400000&amp;photo_name=Photo+1&amp;photo= 1&amp;url</a>

stephan 03-13-2007 11:04 PM

...or one with no wake. <BR> <BR>Henderwake, the above Sanger is a pretty smokin deal. I don't know how many hours it has on it, but if its less than 200 then thats the ticket right there. A good friend has a 2001 V210 with nearly 600 hours on it, we drive it hard, loaded down all the time &amp; she drives like a champ. <BR> <BR>If I had $33k I'd go to the LA Boat Show &amp; buy new V210. Then piece the extras together after that.

jcv 03-14-2007 7:55 AM

I e-mailed Sherman a couple times asking how many hours are on it but couldn't get an answer. It's obvious he takes GREAT care of his boat, so anything under 800 hours is still a really good deal. I was thinking about making an offer, but it scares me that he's not open with the hours.

tmobe 03-22-2007 1:44 PM

I would get the Moomba. I was in the same sit a few years ago and got a Moomba. Loved it enough that I put 140 trouble free hrs on it. I just bought a another Moomba this year. Great price...great boat!

duckguy 03-22-2007 3:15 PM

I would buy the nicest 2001 ever and keep 17k for gas and prostitutes.
