Got it on another forum. thought it was pretty good.

What conservatives know...and the president doesn't
Stephen Bennett

What Conservatives know and the President doesn't...

We know there are 50, not 57 states

We know how to pronounce "corpsman"

We know that no one is ever "punished with a baby"

We know the difference between transparency and closed door meetings, backroom deals and bribes

We know the difference between legitimate support for a bill based on its attributes and cash for cloture

We know how to talk to a 6th grade class without the use of a teleprompter

We know that there is nothing in the Constitution that gives the rights and protections of U.S. citizens to enemy combatants

We know that bowing to foreign heads of state while apologizing for American exceptionalism and benevolence will only invite derision

We know that not directly confronting terrorism and rogue regimes will only result in the proliferation of terrorism and rogue regimes

We know that the massive deficit and debt created by the current administration can in no way be attributed to the previous one

We know that saying its Bush's fault is just as stupid as saying that Bush made me do it

We know that enabling the left's calling of conservatives Nazis, dangerous right wing extremists, terrorists, racists, teabaggers, and other derisive labels will only grow the Tea Party movement and galvanize opposition to the administration and Democrat party

We know the Tea Party's main goal is to bring government back to Constitutional principles and is not threatening to overthrow government

We know that excessive government intrusion into and the demonizing of insurance companies, banks, private business, the free market and profits will strangle and paralyze the economy

We know that providing tax cuts, incentives to hire and the framework for success will grow the economy and lower the unemployment rate.

We know that growing government at the expense of the private sector will only create a house of cards that will collapse

We know that encouraging the non-productive members of society to demand more of the productive members of society is no way to create economic growth and national unity

We know that redistributing wealth will cease wealth to exist anywhere but in the hands of government

We know that government takeover of banks, insurance companies, car companies, and health care is socialism and not a government helping hand to encourage a better free market

We know that saying the stimulus saved or created 2 million jobs while 4 million were lost somehow doesn't add up

We know that appointing tax cheats, pro-pedophiles, marxists, communists and socialists into government positions is not a good way to garner support from the American people

We know that giving amnesty to 12-20 million illegal aliens won't solve the illegal immigration problem but will only make it worse

We know that mandating E-Verify nationwide and enforcing currently existing immigration laws will go a long way to solving the problem of illegal immigration

We know that putting the health care system into the hands of government bureaucrats while massively adding people and coverages will result in skyrocketing costs, increased taxation, rationing, denial of services, inefficiencies and the denigration of the best health care system in the world

We know that pushing legislation that is vastly unpopular will not increase its popularity

We know that lecturing the people instead of listening to the people will not improve falling approval numbers

We know that opposition to his policies is not racist they're just opposition to his policies...period.

You forgot...

We know how to admonish liberals about disparaging the President, and then dispense with our feigned values when we get a President we don't like.

Not to mention....

We know how to steer America into the biggest recession since The Great Depression.

Alright, I agreed with a few of those, and I disagreed with a few; but the irony of this one about made me pee my pants.

"We know the difference between transparency and closed door meetings, backroom deals and bribes"

In the fall of 1999, Senators Christopher Dodd and Charles E. Schumer prevented another impasse by securing a compromise between Sen. Gramm and the Clinton Administration by agreeing to amend the "Federal Deposit Insurance Act" (12 U.S.C. ch.16) to allow banks to merge or expand into other types of financial institutions. The new Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act's FDIC related provisions, along with the addition of sub-section § 2903(c) directly to Title 12, insured any bank holding institution wishing to be re-designated as a financial holding institution by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System would also have to follow Community Reinvestment Act compliance guidelines before any merger or expansion could take effect.[59]

The Community Reinvestment Act (or CRA, Pub.L. 95-128, title VIII, 91 Stat. 1147, 12 U.S.C. § 2901 et seq.) is a United States federal law designed to encourage commercial banks and savings associations to meet the needs of borrowers in all segments of their communities, including low- and moderate-income neighborhoods

Sounds like bush to me what with him running the country in 99 oh wait that was clinton.

fly135 02-11-2010 9:23 AM

Sounds like bush to me what with him running the country in 99 oh wait that was clinton.

Well we know Bush can't be held accountable because Cheney was running the executive office for nearly 8 years.

psudy 02-11-2010 9:39 AM

Its time to let it go John. Bush is not the president anymore. Bush did have a hand in it with lack of oversite, but the current direction is only going to make things worse.

strife 02-11-2010 9:43 AM

we know that bush is a retard and that the damages done by his administration will take several presidents to fix.

we know that he started a war based on Non existing WMD's and without a post war plan.

we know that he de-regulated the financial institutions which helped lead to the credit crisis.

we know that he completely f'd up the handling of Katrina.

we know that he denies global warming.

we know that he is schizophrenic.
--'I am driven with a mission from God'. God would tell me, 'George go and fight these terrorists in Afghanistan'. And I did. And then God would tell me 'George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq'. And I did."

Anyone who thinks they hear god speak to them belongs in a mental institution.

I could go on all day but you get the point. A true raatard.

psudy 02-11-2010 10:01 AM

Your score is 1 out of five. You FAIL.

strife 02-11-2010 10:03 AM

Paul,

Please, enlighten me.

psudy 02-11-2010 10:23 AM

I am not wasting my time. This thread is not about Bush as much as you would like the focus to be shifted.

pesos 02-11-2010 10:35 AM

Actually Paul anyone who's honest will note that (ironically enough) just as many things in that list apply to Bush as they do to Obama. Bush is about as big government and pro-spend as one can get on the red side of the game.

paulsmith 02-11-2010 11:00 AM

Why do so many people think that Bush being awful and Obama (so far) being a fail are mutually exclusive ideas?

Anyway, the list is a joke considering the recent history of conservatives in power.

wake77 02-11-2010 11:01 AM

Conservatives are delusional if they think they are part of an unflawed party.

Sarah Palin proves my point.

Just about every bullet on Paul's list can be applied to both sides of the aisle. Especially, the only alternative we had to Obama, which was McCain. I took my chances and went with Obama, and venture to say that like would be just about the same with McCain and Palmin in office.

tracktor 02-11-2010 11:20 AM

Wes, but wasn't Obama elected on "Change"? Saying he is the same as Bush doesn't help your argument.

Jeremy, true conservatives don't have a party currently. Both of the two popular parties are corrupt as it gets and spend money like they're on a drunken spree in Vegas...........

wake77 02-11-2010 11:32 AM

Yeah, Tracktor, but what party do conservatives align themselves with currently?

psudy 02-11-2010 11:47 AM

"Actually Paul anyone who's honest will note that (ironically enough) just as many things in that list apply to Bush as they do to Obama"

Two wrongs don't make a right.

Both parties have subgroups. The Republicans have the uneducated morons that would vote Palin, and the Dems have the subgroup that would vote obama again.

"Yeah, Tracktor, but what party do conservatives align themselves with currently?"

we are lost souls without a leader.

wake77 02-11-2010 12:05 PM

So you bash people that voted for Obama...

What about the guys that voted for McCain (I assume the majority of conservatives voted for McCain)?

Paul, I am hypothesizing that you side with the Tea Party. And if the Tea Parties are a way for the conservatives to air their concerns, and "Republicans are the uneducated morons that would vote Palin", why was she the keynote speaker at the TeaParty convention in Nashville? Seems confusing.

psudy 02-11-2010 12:22 PM

Nice twist on my quote there Jeremy. Thats not what I said at all. Your hypothesis is wrong too.

I am not bashing bama voters. Everyone can get duped once in their life. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice....

(Message edited by psudy on February 11, 2010)

mammoth 02-11-2010 12:33 PM

So...conservatives know that single philosophical paradigm is Truth? That there is only one perspective through which the world should be viewed, and they own it.

Hmph. Glad I checked out of that disaster at some point. I appreciate that there are intelligent people who disagree with me on non-factual matters.

More of the BS monster. So sad.

wake77 02-11-2010 12:42 PM

Your quote... "The Republicans have the uneducated morons that would vote Palin"

My post..."Republicans are the uneducated morons that would vote Palin"

(By your post) If you are a Republican and you would vote for Palin, that makes you an uneducated moron. Correct?

If you are a Republican and you voted for McCain/Palin, by your terminology, how does that not make you a moron. Where's the twist?

If my hypothesis is incorrect and you don't side with the TeaParty, why did you post a piece from a guy that mentions the TeaParty at least twice? Your opinion is and I quote, "I thought it was pretty good." So a "conservative" writer posts positively about something you don't side with and you think it's good? Am I missing something here?

psudy 02-11-2010 1:52 PM

If you can't comprehend my point and the difference between the two quotes you posted, there is no use in explaining it to you.

Most people would interpret the word "pretty" as it had some good points. If I had used a word like, "spot on," or "great" then it would probably be safe for you to assume I agreed with all of it.

fly135 02-11-2010 1:56 PM

Its time to let it go John.

Oh the irony. I don't recall starting this thread.

Bush is not the president anymore. Bush did have a hand in it with lack of oversite, but the current direction is only going to make things worse.

Lack of oversight was exactly my point. The biggest offenses, i.e. bailing out AIG and Goldman were already done before Obama took office. People focusing on Obama hate is even more misguided than hating on Bush. At least there is one single huge mistake that can be directly traced to Bush. That being the Iraq war.

A major failing in recognizing America's problems is the our inability to see that the trade deficit is a huge gaping wound bleeding the lifeblood of our economy. To the tune of $40B a month. That's money that cannot be put to use doing anything.

At least when the govt goes into debt spending on domestic projects the money continues to circulates in the economy generating tax revenue each time it changes hands. I laugh when I see people lamenting that our money is no longer based on the gold standard. If it was we would have already exported a significant amount of our gold to China.

We'll keep digging ourselves a deeper hole and eventually give the majority of our paycheck to a sh***y healthcare system. And one day the only jobs left will be in heathcare and govt. It's not Obama's fault. It's the fault of the American people.

psudy 02-11-2010 2:18 PM

fly135 02-11-2010 2:24 PM

I thought Bush made a huge mistake by taking us into Iraq. I had no specific complaints against him wrt anything else. McCain was spouting rhetoric that suggested he would be no better with the military and foreign relations. Then he put the icing on the cake by hooking up with Palin. Not really much more to recall.

sjmedic 02-11-2010 2:51 PM

Oh the irony, Oh the irony, Oh the irony, Oh the irony, Oh the irony, Oh the irony, Oh the irony, Oh the irony, Oh the irony, Oh the irony, Oh the irony, Oh the irony, Oh the irony.......and on, and on, and on..... New buzz phrase John? Its getting really old, and it so ironic that it fits your own arguments sometimes.

sjmedic 02-11-2010 2:53 PM

Bush Season! Obama Season! Bush Season! Obama Season! Bush Season! Obama Season! Bush Season! Obama Season! Who cares? They are both screw ups...we just cant blame Obama for screwing up worse than Bush....YET!

strife 02-11-2010 9:45 PM

psudy, i think it went something like this...

"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." —President George W. Bush, Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002

baldboarder 02-14-2010 11:44 AM

Democrats have just as many uneducated morons as Republicans. Republicans have just as many educated morons as Democrats. Stick to facts of what you are for and what you are against and debate the issues! No one, even Presidents, can be an expert in everything. This shows when Presidents like Obama and Bush make major gafs as indicated above. Just saying someone is stupid and a moron doesn't say anything. We are all stupid morons when it comes to certain subjects.

innov8 02-16-2010 8:17 AM

Its Booooosh, hahaha never fails.

All are troubles started back before Bush, but I will say Bush didn't do to well and spent way to much during his second term.

Then here comes Obama running on Hope and Change, well nothing has changed and I have lost all hope that anything will change.

pwrvelocity 02-16-2010 1:33 PM

What the President does not know...... how embarrassed he and part of his current administration will be when the Rod Blagojevich trail starts this summer. Good timing for the elections coming this Fall!

bflat53212 02-16-2010 2:13 PM

"We are all stupid morons when it comes to certain subjects."

Probably the best thing I have ever read in this section of the forum.

From Yahoo front page New's
"Bayh argued that the American people needed to deliver a "shock" to Congress by voting incumbents out in mass and replacing them with people interested in reforming the process and governing for the good of the people, rather than deep-pocketed special-interest groups"
