How does this happen? sorry to hear the bad news

Are you using the shear bolts that come from Switchblade or are you using aftermarket. I know the brass shear bolts from the factory are set to break at a certain tension assuming those are the bolts you are talking about.

Do you trailer with the blade on the boat??some pics of what is broken would be nice.Guess I'm one of the lucky ones that has never had a problem with my blade

I broke a ram and found the main problem was trailering and it being stressed in the wrong direction. I haven't trailered with it since.

A weekend of riding in chop will bend my shear bolt. I probably replace mine every 2 weeks worth of boating. I have some aftermarket bolts but since they don't bend as easy it makes me believe they are a stronger brass alloy and I'd rather be safe using the expensive ones from SB.

Pics if it's something else.

I have been thinking of getting a switchblade, but it seems like such a hassle and if they are breaking even worse. I was wondering if you thought it makes that much difference to have one or not to.
