Not the biggest but here's one of Harf filming for Drive. <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613150.jpg" alt="Upload">

Here's an old shot of Parks from 2004. Can't find the high res version so you'll have to deal with this. <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613154.jpg" alt="Upload">

who was it that had the record height as recorded by the number of frames in the vid? was it Sharpe? or was it Gonzales? I'm pretty sure that Murray is a close second though for that record
yea it was chad sharpe
Anybody have the pic of Sharpe's tail glide? I know he had the most frames and it was from the first year of the Double up or Nothing contest. That glide redefined what I thought was possible on a board.
I used to have it as my background. It's out there... it almost looks photo shopped.
If you look in this months wakeboarding mag (pg.76) there's a nice sequence shot of Ricky G D-up @ the spring ride.
It was cool that CIE Spring Ride got that write up, seems like they would have given it a little more coverage though. That was a great sequence shot of Ricky.
you have seen this one before....classic. <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613170.jpg" alt="Upload">

I was lookin for this earlier: <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613176.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR> <BR>I don't think it was a double up, but theres a similiar one that was, it's on a ronix poster somewhere.

Two pages is a great place to start IMO.

biggest D-Up [<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQeaWidmSZc" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQeaWidmSZc</a>] @ :45. Probobly not the most air off a double up though.
Chad Sharpe = Double up MONSTER <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613203.jpg" alt="Upload">
Damn that BIG !
not a double up but still pretty darn big <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613210.jpg" alt="Upload">
I think that photo was at Parks Double or nothing one year and it was the biggest air or most frames or whatever...I don't know if it is still the biggest but that would be hard to beat. I think Chad has bionic knees.
As far as I know it hasn't been beaten. I know Parks had a batwing the next year that was 2 or 3 frames less and Murray's raley last year was pretty close too. Sharpe is the man.
actually on the video with parks and 12 honkeys. i think the doubleup at 2:04 was bigger. and randalls double up method ftw
First ones not even a double up obviously... <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613328.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613329.jpg" alt="Upload">

Sweet tights!
The shot of Chad Sharpe still stands as the biggest documented air ever. It was at Parks Double of Nothing possibly 2004. I believe it was 54 frames.
Those are some sweet tights.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/lol.gif" border=0>

Tony's legs look so smooth in that shot. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/rofl.gif" border=0>

since andy or ryan hasn't put this one up yet, i'll do the honors. this one deserves some recognition i think. <BR>rider: Colin Ryan <BR>photographer: Ryan Taylor <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613412.jpg" alt="1"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613413.jpg" alt="2"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613414.jpg" alt="3"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613415.jpg" alt="4"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613417.jpg" alt="5">
I am sure Qucksilver still has some of those Retro Shorts that Tony Carroll, Derek Grasman and Trevor Hansen were sporting at spring ride last year. Maybe if you get a pair you to can get that much air due to less drag.
The peak of that d-up in the Colin Ryan Photos is insane. That roller looks between 4 and 5 feet. I think I would crap a brick edging into that.
Ben, I think you are right. My board shorts have been holding me back some, not alot. I think I might just go spedo.

i think thats the biggest one on here for sure. <BR>murray is crazy
<b>"I think I would crap a brick edging into that."</b> <BR> <BR>Anyone see Futurama where Bender craps a brick? A fine example of understated humor.
Jay, <BR> <BR>Thanks for tossing up that photo! Hopefully we can get some better ones TODAY!
Someone post up Murrays raley from the last double or nothing contest...sickness right there! <BR> <BR>Andy, you so know how to serve the meat...that first shot of Colin is epic...
you can seriously tell the difference between a well framed shot and just a sick huge double up by checking the angle of the line from the rider back to the boat... the one of parks from '04 is a perfect illustration... HUGE
Paul <BR> <BR>thanks bro! That's my famous "kinker upple Dub!" They send you in to space for a few seconds.
Wasn't online, But heres a <i>W2W</i> Melan Glide, Thought It was off the Dub but It's Not... <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613595.jpg" alt="Upload">
That's definitely off of the double up, you can see the peaks at the bottom of the picture.
Yep
oops, not a very meaty one though.
Judging from the amplitude it was meaty enough.....
Not Meaty... Right.. How often do you see guys go that big off double up's that aren't meaty..
I'm not implying that he didn't go big, I posted it because I was implying that it may be the biggest anyone has gone off a plain wake, now that Nick brought it up I notice it <i>is</i> a double up, it seems like its the smallest double up on here, not the least amount of air. sorry for the unclearity of the initial post. <BR> <BR>(Message edited by hawk7 on August 12, 2008)

And by the color of the cypress trees I can tell the photo was taken in April......
I can tell it was an open double up instead of a closed double up by looking at the wake. <BR> <BR>and I can tell this epic one here: <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613636.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR> <BR>was a closed double up. all I'm sayin'...

Thanks man! I just wish it was the quality picture that all the others are

Here's one of Murray from about 5 years ago: <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613760.jpg" alt="Upload">

I don't know if there's a picture of it but Gator did a Hoochie Krypt at the LA Open back in the late 90's that was gigantic! I know it's in the video Switch & the people who were at that event said it was the biggest DU that they had ever seen.
Ryan Is that the one he blew his knee out on! I remember that pic from way back! <BR> <BR> <BR>Trevor, <BR> <BR>That is like a "kinker dub" almost a triple and no it wasnt closed off, it was square. Colin is a dub machine.
Gator's front to fakie in Mayday where he blew his knee has to be one of the biggest I've seen. His booted HS 5 on the same video wasn't too bad either.
Andy, I don't think so because he rode away from it. I just remember seeing two angles of the DU and thinking OMG! My brother was also at the event and he said even from shore, it was massive. <BR> <BR>Eubanks, I completely agree with you. Gator hit's some of the biggest DU's in Mayday. I also have video of him hitting a massive front to fakie at the 1998 Nationals.
Eubanks, <BR> <BR>thats what I was thinking of i think. They had so still of it in WBM and It was EPIC! <BR> <BR>We need Electirc Snow to Scna and Post them!
<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/615316.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR>Rider is Austin Price of Hattiesburg MS. The boat is an 03 X-Star.
here's a different one I'd posted awhile back--it's from wbm, photos are by tom king. It's rob reid going bananas. I didn't crop any of the photos, so what you see is what you would have gotten in the mag. I had just cropped the black borders from the layout. <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/615358.jpg" alt="Upload">
i remember that rob reid one... crazy. you cant make out the text but it says something like, "when was the last time you saw a double up photo where the water wasnt in the background..."
Elec snow... you are my hero! <BR> <BR>Super Squirt was a booster!
That photo makes my knees hurt
Yea, you might as well have jumped off the roof of your house and landed on the pavement......all with a wakeboard on......... <BR>The compression reeks out of those last two pics...
I had that sequence of Rob Reid taped to my wall when I was growing up. I think my mom threw it away when I went to college. <BR> <BR>Electric Snow, thanks for the trip down memory lane…
no ryan, I think you are MY hero! <BR> <BR>For real, that's a board I would like in my collection some day. I'm a bit of a gregg necrason fan. <BR> <BR>Yeah, it's hard to read that text (the scan is of a low quality) but I think this is it: "if you're wondering who Rob Reid is, let's just say he's a guy searching for a good orthopedic surgeon. 'He had to be 20 in the air. It's the biggest thing I've ever seen anyone do on a wakeboard.' Those words are from a guy who's seen a lot of people ride, Tom King. To get an idea of how big this move actually is, try to think of the last time you saw a shot from the boat with no water or trees in the background." <BR> <BR>In a different thread, someone said that rob was later measured at 30 feet. I'm not sure where that ultimately came from but he's a gnar dog none the less. Glad you guys are stoked on it!
Esnow, there was another picture from around the same time, with Ricky Gonzalez riding the blue/yellow fade LF squirt, that is ridiculously large as well. I loved that board, and the super squirt as well. Don't know if I have ridden a board to date that popped as well.
ahahahah I am so stoked to be seeing that sequence. Rob now owns a wakeboarding school up in the hamptons called Global Boarding. I have been working there for the last two years and I can say first hand that he still goes just as big. His only problem now is no one can drive a triple up that is big enough for him. He still rips its insane. <BR> <BR>Electric snow, earlier this year rob was showing me magazine shots from back in the day and there was another shot somewhere of him doing an oriental off a triple up, you wouldnt happen to have that laying around would you?
