This is the second year in a row that opening day at Stanley is snowed out. Gotta love Colorado.

Anyone know where it's 90 degrees and sunny right about now?

bigshow 05-02-2005 8:57 AM

It snowed Saturday and Sunday the week before where I'm at. We still went boarding Wednesday in 50H air temp and 40F water temp, shorties except one guy had no wet suit at all. No problems man, Ha

ivyrider 05-02-2005 9:16 AM

It was supposed to be partly cloudy and around 65 yesterday... ended up being 75 and sunny. Water temps around 68. What a beautiful day on the lake!! Opps... sorry to rub that in. heh.

05-02-2005 11:06 AM

Fine! Rub it in!

watsoc 05-02-2005 11:53 AM

Swass, get out on Standley this upcoming weekend. Supposed to be in the mid 70s. If you see a Red/White Tige 21V then make sure to say hi b/c I may try to get out there with my friend Marty. Otherwise it may be Boulder Res for me. At least I got a day in a couple of weekends ago when it was in the 70s. Ran home on Friday to drain the engine however with the temps hovering in the high 20 and low 30s.

05-02-2005 12:33 PM

Cool. Will do. We'll look for ya. I'll be in a Malibu Response LX, Tige 21V, Mastercraft 195 or a Calabria XTS Comp.

colorider 05-02-2005 1:39 PM

Chris, you will most likely hear us before you see us. Blue and white MC 195(x-5). Black and white Calabria or blue and white tige. All thumpin and screamin some tunes..

watsoc 05-02-2005 2:07 PM

Swass and Colorider - We are getting there around 10 am so I will keep an eye out for you guys.

05-02-2005 2:09 PM

Saturday or Sunday?

kraig 05-02-2005 4:32 PM

Hey guys, are any of you going to make it out for the MileHigh Meet & Greet on Saturday?!?

Chris- You're in right?

Andrew- I thought you and Swass were heading out of town this weekend? Are you guys up for joining us on Saturday?

bohdi 05-02-2005 7:12 PM
WOW ... Ya I thought every "Wake Boarder" in the area was going to be at the Mile High Meet & Greet on Saturday.Would be a beautiful sight to see tons of boats all tied off and cranking the systems.. Be some great pics to post. The kind we can toss on WW.. You know "wallpaper material".

This weekend is to hang out with the whole Mile High Wake community I thought...We even have a rep from "Krown Boards" coming out. With goodies and such. Maybe even demos. ???

Hey .... Swass , Andrew ,and Chris .It would be awesome to see you guys this Saturday. Just to see alot of the top riders and top boats in the area. And most of all have a great time.

Andrew, Chatfield on Saturday.. Would be awesome to check out everyones systems in all of the boats....Maybe even share some great advice on what you and your crew have done with your systems. Good advice on a boat system is priceless.

Really hope to see all of you on Saturday....Bohdi
colorider 05-02-2005 8:17 PM

I had the dates wrong. We just got back from our trip. It is doubtful I am going to make it to Chatfield on Sat. I am working till about 2 and if the weather is nice I will hit Standley. By the time I got the boat loaded up and at the ramp of Chatfield, it would be too late in the day. Probably around 4 at the earliest. Dang work getting in the way of boat fun.

05-03-2005 7:12 AM

LOL...top riders. That leaves me out!

I don't think I'll be able to make it. Thanks for the invite, though.

watsoc 05-03-2005 9:54 AM

Bohdi:

My system is currently out of comission. There is a short in there somewhere and I can't seem to find it. I will likley pay Car Toys to help me figure out the problem. Do you have any suggestions for places to get this looked at? It would be best to have a place familiar with marine applications to check it out. I have checked everything with a volt meter and everything is getting juice but for some reason my amp won't turn on. I have gotten it to work in my car though so the amp is not the problem. Any suggestions on where to go would be appreciated. Wakeboard and Waterski Speciality told me to check Car Toys so I may just take it to them.

I don't know if I have enough time on Saturday to make it all the way down to Chatfield. It is around a hour drive just to get there and Standley is only 5 minutes. I will have to check my schedule but I likely won't be making it. It would be great to meet all you guys though.

05-03-2005 10:12 AM

I don't recommend Car Toys. You'll have to take out a second mortgage to get it fixed.

Call SoundTrack in Lakewood and ask for Mo (his name is Marshall) in the install shop. He'll find the problem in no time for a reasonable price. He did an awesome job on the stereo install in my truck.

watsoc 05-03-2005 11:36 AM

Swass:

What is the per hr. charge at Soundtrack? Car Toys was quoting $45 per hr. which did not sound too bad. I will give Mo a call and see what he charges. Thanks for the advice.

05-03-2005 11:39 AM

I'm not sure. That's lower than I thought they'd charge. It's worth a call though.

colorider 05-03-2005 7:28 PM

First, check the remote turn on wire. Usually blue. Make sure it is tightly connected to the ignition or whatever source you have it connected to. I would suggest splicing it into the remote turn on wire that is on the head unit. If the head unit turns on, then the amp should too.Tap into the remote wire with a "t-tap" or similar connector directly into the wire. If you are not using the blue remote wire on either the head unit or the amp, then wire the power to the amp exactly like you have the head unit wired. should work. In that method, a short in the wiring would show up in the head and the amp..

watsoc 05-04-2005 8:13 AM

Andrew:

I think it is definately the blue wire coming from the head unit. Everything else checked out fine on the volt meter. I think I may have blown the wiring harness on the head unit because the signal coming across the blue wire was not very strong (milliwatt strength only). The speakers wires on the head unit were also not providing any power as well. The head unit is on though so it seems like something is wrong with the blue wire connection to the amp. I have spent quite a few hours trying to figure this out and I may just take it to a professional.

colorider 05-04-2005 8:35 AM

The blue wire actually carries very very little power. But if you have checked everything, and it is still dead, take it in. Hurry up, the sun is out and who knows how long it is going to last

leggester 05-04-2005 2:36 PM

... never mind ...

I was going to make a peace offering and bury the hatchet w/Swass...

watsoc 05-06-2005 7:21 AM

Swass:

Where you out on Standley yesterday? I saw a Malibu Response being towed by a Grand Cherokee and I was wondering if it was you. Water temp was a chilly 58 f at Standley but it wasn't too bad with a 2/3 mil wetsuit. I am still planning on going out Saturday as well so say hi of you see us in a Red/White Tige 21V.

05-06-2005 7:30 AM

Nope - that wasn't me. I have a white F250; my Response is an open bow with a Titan tower and speakers.

I hope to be out tomorrow, but I can't make it until after noon or so. My boat's not ready to go yet, so I'll be bummin' a ride. If I can get out there, I'll look for ya.

58 degrees? Cozy! That's a little warmer than I would've guessed.

(Message edited by swass on May 06, 2005)

05-06-2005 7:52 AM

Did you get the stereo problem fixed?

watsoc 05-06-2005 8:02 AM

Stereo is still out of commission. I am going to Powell this next Thursday so I am saving the funds for that trip. I hope to get it fixed by the beginning of June for the summer months. Hopefully the weather holds out tomorrow so we can get some good sets in.

05-06-2005 8:23 AM

Andy and I should be out there sometime after 2:00. Maybe he can take a look at it for ya.

watsoc 05-06-2005 8:36 AM

My boat will be at home b/c I don't have access over at Standley. I will be out on a buddies boat which is nice b/c he has a Tige 21V. I have access over at Boulder Res. because I live in Broomfield and get denied on the Standley pass due to residency. I will keep an eye out for a X-5 if we are still out later in the day. Looks like it could get a little wind blown on Saturday but I am hoping for the best.

http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=80003&hourly=1&yday=126& amp;weekday=Saturday

05-06-2005 8:41 AM

My bad - you said that above already.

watsoc 05-09-2005 9:16 AM

Andrew:

I think I saw your Mastercraft out on Standley on Saturday. I think you stated a blue/white one which I spotted out there around 12:30. We got out there pretty early and weather was pretty bad. We pulled the 21V out of there at 1 pm and of course it started looking better. Hopefully we will all get to meet up at some point.
