This boat is pure eye candy with innovations and features to the max-

Love the new interiors...

Bravo MC for hitting this one out of the park!!

http://mastercraft.com/

wakereviews 12-23-2009 12:26 PM

great job Mastercraft! Boat looks incredible!

polarbill 12-23-2009 12:31 PM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYeo9m_J8Ts

Youtube video. The boat looks great. I have a feeling this could be their new best seller.

Death of the Xstar????

12-23-2009 12:37 PM

Wow, I am not a big Mastercraft fan but this boat is amazing. If I was in the market for a new boat, this would get a strong consideration.

behindtheboat 12-23-2009 12:45 PM

Very nice. Is this the first it's been shown? If so, kind of odd to hold out till December, but Boat Show season is right around the corner.

polarbill 12-23-2009 12:55 PM

It was pretty funny. I actually got the email about it and ran into Darren who runs the Seattle Mastercraft dealer about 10 minutes later. He let me know they are going to have one for the boat show in Seattle. I am definitely checking that out.

(Message edited by polarbill on December 23, 2009)

phenom_1819 12-23-2009 1:07 PM

Very nice............ looking forward to seeing it in person at the Seattle show!

snowboardcorey 12-23-2009 1:41 PM

We'll have one at the Minneapolis Boat Show!

dlamont 12-23-2009 1:43 PM

Cal, will you be taking one in black or red?

phenom_1819 12-23-2009 1:50 PM

Haha... I wondered how long it would take.

dlamont 12-23-2009 2:19 PM

Anybody coming to the VIP night of the Seattle boat show? If you need an invite I've got them.

sidekicknicholas 12-23-2009 2:35 PM

any idea on $$$$

isn't the X-star 22'5/6"

snowboardcorey 12-23-2009 2:43 PM

MC's specing the X-25 at 21'6" long and 102" wide the X-Star is 22'3" and 100" wide.

jon_a 12-23-2009 2:46 PM

Nick,

Exactly what I was thinking. MC makes too many boats IMO.

polarbill 12-23-2009 3:04 PM

They do have a lot of boats. I think it is about time to kill off the 205v hull for good. Maybe they could sell the mold to a company like Standard Boats but I don't know if it is a good idea to sell that to another manufacturer. If the 225 really is only 21'6" then I wonder if they keep the X15. That was a pretty popular boat I think.

cwfletch 12-23-2009 3:06 PM

Hmm kinda looks like MC's version of CC 230, not bashing MC, first thing that came to mine when I seen the email.

wakecumberland 12-23-2009 3:19 PM

If this thing has the wake of the CSX 220, I will have one!

tampawake 12-23-2009 3:39 PM

If anything a 210 crusher same length. If the wake is as good as the 210 with stock ballast I would lean heavily mc. To date the best wake without ballast and stock ballast I have ridden. Hopefully some csx guys will step up and talk about the wake. Long live the 205v I own an xstar of that model.

polarbill 12-23-2009 3:41 PM

Adam, do another all white boat. Your X2 is one of my favorites.

lakesurfer 12-23-2009 3:42 PM

I am not a big MC fan, but that is a very nice family boat with a great wake. Personally, I am very curious to how nice the surf wake.

bmartin 12-23-2009 3:45 PM

Why kill the 205V hull? I don't know what their sales figures look like across the lines, but there are others I would knock out of the line up before the 205. That is an ideal platform from which to build an entry level ride.

Off topic, but any fall out from the ill fated Rewards program MC had last year at the boat shows???? Haven't heard what happened to all those people with vouchers...I'm sure MC would rather not resurrect the topic, but I'm kind of curious.

jtnz 12-23-2009 3:52 PM

Ugh, the bow is horrible. Looks like a bubble. Not a fan.

phenom_1819 12-23-2009 3:53 PM

I'm surprised this boat is only 21'6". That puts it in X-15 territory. I wonder if MC has thoughts of removing the X-15 and X-30 from the line-up now that they have the X-25 and X-35, both on the CSX hull which seems to get rave reviews...

(Message edited by phenom_1819 on December 23, 2009)

polarbill 12-23-2009 4:02 PM

They really need to get rid of the X30 if they haven't already.

I only say get rid of the 205V because that simply isn't what people are looking for these days. They also aren't an entry level builder. It is also built different than any other boat they make besides the 197. In 2007 when I sold Mastercrafts I think we sold one 205V the whole year and it was a left over 2006 that was being sold for real cheap. That was between 2 or 3 different MC dealers.

It would be pretty cool if Standard bought the original SAN 210 and 205V molds. Then they could make entry level 2001's, 205V's and SAN's. Maybe even buy the original VLX mold.

Back to the X25 though. I really like the rear facing seats. Even though it is illegal to sit in them while under way they would be perfect for sitting in while surfing.

trdon 12-23-2009 5:40 PM

I wish MC would come up with a better naming system. It is a pain trying to remember what all the numbers corespond to. It is just getting more confusing with each model.

brett564 12-23-2009 6:37 PM

WOW! This boat is amazing! the rear facing transom seats are the most useful and innovative ideas I've seen implemented into wakeboats in a while. I can only imagine how expensive this is going to be though.

It looks like someone put all the best features from other boat makers into this boat. It has everything except a wedge!

gangster_wake 12-23-2009 7:03 PM

I'm proud to say that our group down at fanfair this fall was the first ever to drive and ride the X25. All I can say is "wow". Our time in boat was rushed due to the rainy weather but we managed to get in a few sets each. With only the stock ballast, the wake was awesome. One of our riders is the biggest wake snob you'll ever meet and he gave it 2 thumbs up. I can go on on about this boat.. By far the best stock wake I've ever rode

wakecumberland 12-23-2009 7:05 PM

Thanks Brett! It's for sale by the way. Looking forward to building an X25 on the MC website...even though I can't afford one right now.

jaybee 12-23-2009 7:53 PM

(To Myself) John, you just bought a boat...........But..........But............that thing is amazing. I swore no more new boats for quite a while but man.................

mattscraft 12-24-2009 4:18 AM

In a word... Wow, I was pretty sure my next boat was going to be a 55, but now I will have to give this boat a serious shake down... Great Job MasterCraft!!! I showed the wife the video and all she could say about all the great features and conveniences was, wow, we’ve got to have one of those!!! Guess I will have to have a great 2010 sales year boys... Now that’s motivation!!!

dreevs 12-24-2009 5:34 AM

Come on Dee Cee - get your order in NOW!!!

woreout 12-24-2009 7:35 AM

Its the same hull as the CSX 220 which has an Awesome wake.

dreevs 12-24-2009 8:37 AM

Cal - X35 on a CSX hull - is that right?

polarbill 12-24-2009 9:09 AM

This is a complete guess but I think that the 25, 35 and 55 are all probably based on a hull similar to the CSX. Since MC says the X25 is on the CSX hull I would say the 35 and 55 are based on bigger versions of the hull?

phenom_1819 12-24-2009 9:09 AM

Hopefully one of the MC guys will chime in. I'm still a Supra guy. ;) But I'm reasonably sure I've read or heard that the X-35 is based on the CSX hull... Unfortunately, searching past threads isn't helping me verify.

EDIT: Brett, looks like we were posting at the same time.

(Message edited by phenom_1819 on December 24, 2009)

azwakekid 12-24-2009 9:58 AM

watching the utube clip makes me wonder... i think zane will be the new billy mays.

andrew_moreton 12-26-2009 6:39 PM

Can't wait to ride this boat this spring. I loved the wake on the CSX 220, but the interior layout just wasn't for me. I think the X-Star will still be their core wakeboard boat, but it will be interesting to compare sales figures in '10 to '08 and '09 to see which boats sell the best.

linder 12-26-2009 11:24 PM

I will have one, this is the perfect boat for my needs.

tristan 12-27-2009 3:05 AM

will there be a saltwater version of this?

polarbill 12-27-2009 9:32 AM

Tristan, they will definitely have a saltwater version of it. They have a saltwater version of pretty much every boat they make.

hco 12-27-2009 1:24 PM

Most dealers should be getting them in for the January shows. I am very excited to see this boat in person, and hopefully get to demo it eventually (nothing but +++ about the wake STOCK, something rare for a MC).

gene3x 12-27-2009 2:03 PM

I would like to know if all three are based on the CSX hull also.

jaybee 12-28-2009 6:06 AM

Ummmmmm if I am not mistaken it says right in the video that it is based on the CSX hull no?

tampawake 12-28-2009 6:57 AM

My conversation with my deal is it IS the CSX 220 hull

sp0tts 12-28-2009 7:07 AM

the video says it is, and if you look at the specs, they're identical to the CSX... basically, they took the CSX and gave it a wakeboat interior...

ripr 12-28-2009 10:38 AM

CSX hull on a wakeboat interior is a winner.

I've ridden the CSX (the smaller one) and it was one of the best wakes I've ever been on.

I shiver just thinking of the price tag on this new one, but it looks like they've got a good one.

I could see the X-15 and X-30 going away soon.

bill_airjunky 12-28-2009 10:41 AM

So any bets as to how long it will take for someone to either slide off one of those back seats while underway? Or get a ticket for sitting there while surfing/boarding?

hco 12-28-2009 11:48 AM

The one thing the X15 has going for it is the non-picklefork. Some people really like the traditional bow as opposed to the pickle fork. The X-30 should definitely be removed from the lineup.

tampawake 12-28-2009 12:36 PM

NAW do you know how it compares to the new SAN210?

ripr 12-28-2009 12:46 PM

tampawake- not particularily, its been awhile. The CSX I rode behind had a ton of people in it, and the new 210 I rode in had just 2 people and factory ballast. Not really a fair comparison.

tampawake 12-28-2009 1:01 PM

Thanks man buddy has a 210 with factory ballast would say its the most impressive wake I have been on with stock ballast. I think only 500 - 700 lbs. That is.

surfdoggy 12-28-2009 2:58 PM

Cool features in a lot of places. The deep vee should really help the surf wake. I wonder if you can get much extra ballast in it though, given that the rear compartments look fairly small.

polarbill 12-28-2009 3:02 PM

The openings for the rear compartments are small but I am not sure the actual compartments are that small. I would think you could get at least 500 in each rear locker.

pc_sledge 12-29-2009 4:52 PM

I'm digging it. Looks like a boat that might actually give the MB widebody a fair comparison. It'll be interesting to see how it's priced. Does anyone know if Chicago MC will have one on hand at the McCormick Center?

polarbill 12-29-2009 5:43 PM

I am guessing an MSRP in the 90-100k range when equipped nicely and a real world selling price of 75-85.

brucemac 12-29-2009 6:51 PM

sweetness

polarbill 12-29-2009 6:59 PM

Bruce, I want to see you pick up one of those in all white.

brucemac 12-29-2009 7:07 PM

brett so do i

gangster_wake 12-29-2009 8:23 PM

Cincinnati Mastercraft will have one at their show in Jan.

tampawake 12-30-2009 6:22 AM

Awesome Mastercraft keeps making boats for the common man.

ripr 12-30-2009 9:25 AM

Brett-
No X25 for Chicago.

wesley_is_wake 12-30-2009 10:22 PM

^^That sucks. it looks like a great new addition to the MC lineup. (like mastercraft doesn't have enough in the X-series already) When is the Chicago boat show this year? I went for the first time last year and loved it. I hope I can go back this year.

trdon 12-31-2009 7:36 AM

A boat for the common man would not cost 75K+

phenom_1819 12-31-2009 7:59 AM

I think Tampa was being sarcastic... And I don't think mc has ever claimed to make boats for the common man. MC has strived to be best in class. Hard to do both at the same time.

mikeporter2000 12-31-2009 9:20 AM

Here are the base MSRP’s according to the Waterski Mag 2009 Boat Review issue:

X-2 = $65k
CSX 220 = $68k
X-15 = $69k
X-35 = $78k
x-Star = $80k

My guess is somewhere in the low 70s?

polarbill 12-31-2009 9:38 AM

Mike, you are probably correct with the low to mid 70's base MSRP. Now start adding stuff at MSRP prices.

Trailer-8,000
MCX-2000
LY6-An additional 3-5k above the MCX I am guessing
Bimini-700
cover-700
heater-700
fiberglass platform-700
bow filler cushion-500
one set of tower speakers with lights-2200
additional set-2200
tower mirror arm-300
shower-700

If you take a base MSRP of 73k that comes to 92900 plus freight, prep, tax, license. Now that is for a 100% loaded boat. But if you got 10% off the 92900 that give you around 83k plus freight, prep, tax and license.

I think if you got one with an MCX, teak deck, bimini, heater, tandem trailer and cover but with no tower speakers, shower, bow filler cushion, tower lights, underwater lights, etc you could probably get one for about 75-78k at peak season. That is just a guess though.

snowboardcorey 12-31-2009 12:14 PM

There will be an X-25 at the Minneapolis Boat Show!

jeff_mn 12-31-2009 1:05 PM

Excited to see it Corey.

What time are the rail jams starting?

liveoz 12-31-2009 3:13 PM

$8,000 for a trailer is just insane. I was pissed 5 years ago when I had to pay $4,800 for a trailer

(Message edited by liveoz on December 31, 2009)

snowboardcorey 12-31-2009 4:50 PM

Not sure what time the shows will be at, we are enlisting some riders but the jam itself is being hosted by Step Up. We are working on getting Erik Ruck or JD Webb up for the jam.

woreout 01-05-2010 7:18 AM

The X25 is the only boat sharing the same hull as the CSX. The X35 is completely different. The X25 is an amazing boat, it has so much more interior room and storage than most of its competition and the wake for once is awesome with stock ballast. I have spent quite a bit of time in the CSX and the ride it gives you in choppy water is quite comfortable compared to most. Its very soft when hitting big rollers, it doesnt feel like you just broke the stringers or your kidneys when pounding through them. I think the X25 is going to take over being the top seller over the X2.
Hopefully Zane will have one at home so we can play with it for a while.

tampawake 01-05-2010 7:36 AM

It wont take over if its 25 to 30k more than the X2. Not everyone is sponsored or bringing down 200,000 a year to afford a 75 to 85k boat. No matter how good it is.

gene3x 01-05-2010 7:43 AM

^^ finally an answer to my question ^^

Thanks Billy

woreout 01-05-2010 10:14 AM

tampawake, the XStar is in 2nd place as far as sales go and it is quite a bit more money than the the X2. I hear what your saying, but I dont think price will have as much to do with it as we think. (unfortunately)
As far as 20K-30K more, I doubt it will be that much. Probably more along the line of 10k-15k more.
Its quite a bit more boat size wise, its a 1ft & half longer and 6" wider. The width is where all the extra room comes from.

polarbill 01-05-2010 10:18 AM

For 10-15k more than the X2 I could see a lot of people stepping up to this boat over the X2 unless they have space issues. It looks like a lot more boat than the X2.

brett564 01-05-2010 11:35 AM

So what are we expecting a normally outfitted X-25 will go for?

wakeride26 01-05-2010 1:09 PM

I can not wait to see this boat in person. I wonder if Inland NW MC will have one at the boat show?

towboat_222 01-06-2010 7:32 AM

I just became a dealer for Mastercraft. Saw the X-25 at factory Perfect would be the word. They thought everything out. When you guys go to the show check out the new toys. Big screen dash, plug and play ballast, camera and surf tabs. Its ready.

andrew_moreton 01-06-2010 7:38 AM

Does anyone have any pictures of this boat besides the YouTube of Zane?

polarbill 01-06-2010 8:24 AM

Ken, plug and play ballast? That is very intriguing. Did they have dual rear and a front?

If you load one out with plug and play ballast, camera, surf tabs, bimini, tower mirror arm, cover, fiberglass platform, bow filler cushion, heater, shower, binding blaster, 4 tower speakers w/ lights, rear facing lights and ly6 I could see this boat selling for over 100k.
