i am probably getting a new 2007 X2 and was just wondering how the wake compares to the x star. how is the wake when the boat is loaded down?
if you have any pics of your "pickle fork" x2 wake please post them!!!

when weighted properly the x2 wake is very good. you can get the wake big but never quite as big as the xstar can get, but you wont be disappointed with it.

here are a few pics of me riding behind my x2 which is loaded down. the middle pic is a doubleup and the fourth one is the landing of that hs 7 off the doubleup

how does this wake compare to an 02 xstar or an 05 x2?
somebody said the new x2 wake is smaller than their old xstar. is this true????

lespaul 07-08-2007 12:34 PM

if you can get ahold of an '06 waterski mag boat buyers guide they have pictures of both the X-1(same boat as '02 X-star with different graphics) wake and the X-2 wake. I don't know how you would get ahold of one though. just an idea.

Here's an old X-2 wake (pre pickle-fork). Im sorry the pic isn't that good.

The rider in 6'2" and is ridin at 70' at 22.5mph

the reason i am asking is my 02 xstar died and we are looking at a new x2. i am just concerned that the wake wont be as good. i love the 07 xstar wake but i noticed that the x2 hull design is not as wake specific as the 07 xstar.

projectely4 07-08-2007 1:04 PM

i had an 02 xstar and loved the wake but now whenever i get back behind one im glad i made the move to the new x2 not the x1

when loaded down the wake is big with a nice wide landing zones.
the old x2 being a bitmore vertical pops you more but you dont actually go any bigger, it just gives you that abrupt feeling and not the smooth floaty feeling of the new x2.

if your worried that the wake will limit your ridingdont be. i ride with a pro that rides on tour and he has the new x2 and can still throw all his tricks

and the pics on my previous posts were at 24mph at 80 feet

01 - 03 XSTAR in St. Louis, MO. Giving my buddy your number. Super clean, has about 400 hours on it.

jmuthafnp 07-09-2007 6:06 AM

I have an 06 X2, we run the stock ballast and 400lbs of Pops Products lead. 80 on each side of the motor and 120lbs on each side of the bow. The extra lead adds a little size but definetley good shape. If you want real big hit up Ronnie from wakeboardnebraska.com.

Break in does suck.. congrats on the X-2 you wont be dissappointed. However I got used to riding it with a min 500# over stock ballast and then last week rode stock. It was like riding behind an I/O! LOAD THAT B up!

projectely4 07-10-2007 5:55 AM

my minimum is 1000# over stock, haha

blakep 07-10-2007 4:32 PM

polarbill 07-10-2007 4:38 PM

Blake, post some pictures. That was the best looking X2 we had this year. Let us know if you have any problems. If you can't get ahold of Guy give me a call. My number is 425-269-7493. That is my cell and I have it on me all the time. I hope you guys really get to enjoy the boat. Let us know a week or 2 before you want to bring it in for the 20 hour service so we can get you in and out quick and you don't miss any riding time. Once again enjoy.

Brett

mcx2ryd 07-10-2007 4:48 PM

billy, dont get me wrong it is most always at least 1000. but to make the wake anywhere near decent you need at least 500# or about 6-8 ppl
