1) Make sure you have Windows ME/2000/XP <BR> <BR>2) Download and install the following: <BR> <BR>If you have a brand new iPod with a dock connector: <BR><a href="http://a1408.g.akamai.net/7/1408/1388/20030619/akamai.info.apple.com/iPod/ww/win/061-0639.20030619.Btav3/setup.exe" target="_blank">http://a1408.g.akamai.net/7/1408/1388/20030619/akamai.info.apple.com/iPod/ww/win/061-0639.20030619.Btav3/setup.exe</a> <BR> <BR>Touch-wheel and scroll-wheel iPod without dock connector: <BR><a href="http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ipodsoftwareupdate13.html" target="_blank">http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ipodsoftwareupdate13.html</a>

lol. i don't know what's stranger - that someone actually posted a thread with the topic with the words "ipod" and "sync," in it or that two people have responded in kind!

I have a new iPod that I run off of Windows and mine did the same thing when I first got it. Go to Apple.com and download the iPod updater. I think it is version 2.0.1 or something like that. That should help. If not, go to the iPod icon at the bottom right of Windows and click on it. You have to highlight the iPod and click ok.
