So my boat (Centurion Avalanche) doesn't have mufflers, and I was wondering if anyone has ever installed a 4" inline mercury muffler? I want a quieter boat without buying an FAE. I know some states require it, and it looks like it would be an easy install. My boat has an ultra low emissions engine, but I don't like how loud it is. I can get a muffler kit for around 150 bucks online. How much do they help?

I have, look at the CC post, the install story was mine. I removed them and I'd be interested to sell them.
