I bent the prop shaft on my 89 sunsetter. Does anyone know the dimensions of the shaft (length, diameter) or a good place to get a replacement.
Or is there any chance that it could be prepaired?

TIA

That prop shaft would be a 1" diameter. Malibu went to 1 1/8" about 1993 I believe. Sorry don't know the length. I had one repaired on Malibu of that vintage once and it worked out fine. Took it to a shop that balanced automotive drive shafts. However for the cost savings versus taking it out again if it was not right, I would put in a new one.

JK

how hard was it to take out?
|
also try Elberts.com
Great folks to deal with and can probably help you determine size. I did mine on my old boat (04 Outback DD) last year. I did it in one day... big delays came from lack of right tool and having to drive back into town. Ask Elberts what tools you HAVE to have. He'll recommend a couple that make the job easier! Also, there are downloadable instructions on elberts.com

Skidim.com are great folks too.
