malibu sunsetter exhaust hose problem

So i had to drop a new engine in my boat. I got to the point of installing the hose between the riser and the muffler. I purchased some shieldsflex II hose, it looked very similar to what was on the boat. So i get one side done and realize that the bend at the muffler is not tight enough where it comes up through the floor, so i wouldnt even be able to put the removeable floor piece back down, so that piece of hose is garbage cause its not long enough to bend that tight, so i try again with a new piece and i just cant get the hose to conform to the shape i want. Then it is jammed so tight against the engine/trans mount in back.

any ideas??

is there suppose to be a 45 degree elbow where hose comes up from floor?

the bend is built into the "mufflers" on mine, but they're not built into the floor. Sounds like yours are.. post a pic.

I'll post up some pics tomorrow. But i did order up some 45 degree fiberglass exhaust elbows. After talking to a buddy who has a centurion, he said where his exhaust comes up from the floor to the riser there is a elbow so you dont have to bend that hardwall hose at such a tight radius.

I got the exhaust all installed using 45 degree elbows like the ones above. makes installation a lot better and every things fits nice.
