down with the BCS, finally
great to see we are finally going to have a real National Champ in College football. I just wish they would have started with an 8 team playoff instead of the 4. I bet they double revenue and move to a bigger playoff before this new 12 year contract is up.

Just in time for Ohio State to sit out this yrs bowl games and come back with a vengience:)

Meh. It's still a committee picking the top 4 teams, so there's bound to be some argument over why only two SEC teams are in the final four, and not three. And then the #5 team is gonna whine about not being #4.
I would have been more interested in seeing the Rose Bowl champ vs the Big12/SEC bowl game champ playing each other in a MNC game. Nobody from the other conferences have really won much but maybe there could be some at-large birth given if one of the Big East or ACC teams starts playing really well. |
its a start, but like Scott says, there are going to be some whining. but this is a step in the right direction.
|
i'd rather whine about 5 and 6 then 3 and 4, but i would much rather have people whining about 9 and 10.
|
I'd rather not whine at all. Take all of the conference champions and make a playoff out of that. We don't need a 'selection committee' or anything like that. Wanna win the national championship? Easy- win your conference. This isn't rocket science.

Im with you but that just makes to much sense for them to embrace that idea.

This is the best of both. What makes college great is that every game counts, not just the playoffs.
By expanding to eight teams, the eighth best team could go on a streak and win three games to be Nat'l champs. |
