Dan, I doubt you'll get any information on here... Retailers and people in the industry aren't exactly chomping at the bit to expose to the customer their numbers. It'd be like Superman exposing his identity.

mark up on soft goods is keystone, which doubles the price. Some goods will be keystone +2, some have incentive buys. Not sure on hard goods in wake industry. The snowboard company I worked for marked everything up keystone though. <BR>Wetsuits work on a lesser margin, about 40% mark up. <BR>That should get you started.

I wish I could get those mark-ups. Too competitive for that kind of profit. Maybe a captive market at a resort....

The average mark up on wake hard goods is 40%. You dont make much money in it and it is an expensive sport to inventory. That is why alot of smaller shops dont like to carry wake. But if you want to make money selling boardshorts and other accs. you need the Big tickets to get them (customers) in the door. Hope that helps a bit. And as far as turn over and return on investment, it depends on your area. Different shops see different customer base.

Most boardshops don't sell boats. You will find alot of boatshops that sell boards though. <BR> <BR>Very expensive to stock a shop. Wakeboards, snowboards, surfboards all high ticket items. And most all manufacturers require a minimum order, some as much as $20,000. By the end of the season you are trying to just get your money back.
