I have a 05 Tige 20v that should be here in a few weeks. It was ordered without any stereo. The following is what I was thinking about putting in.

If you think better quality stuff can be had for a similar price or you would advise me against any of these products, please feel free to tell me.

3 pair of Kicker K6.2
75/150 rms/peak with crossovers

1 12" Rockford Fosgate T112D4
600/1200 rms/peak

1 pair Skylon Deafcon III
225 rms @ 2 ohm

2 Rockford Fosgate P8004
1st P8004-100 x 4 rms @ 4 ohms to 2 pair of K6.2
2nd P8004-100 x 2 rms @ 4 ohms to 1 pair of K6.2
200 x 2 rms @ 2 ohms to the Skylons

1 Rockford Fosgate P6001
600 x 1 rms @ 2 ohms to the sub

Head unit is still up in the air. Needs to be capable of 2 remotes. I cann't seem to get any info on the new Clarion ( CMD4 ), hopefully it has 4 volt pre-outs.

Thanks for your input,
Chris
I think you will find that your interior speakers become fairly insignificant once you get a set of good tower speakers. You might even be able to run deck power to them. Save your amp money for the tower and the subs.

Looks good, I'd go with 2-10's or 2-12's and get good mono just for those........depends on what type of music you listen to also.......I have 4 10's with Kicker 1200W Mono amp.......6 - 6.5 kickers in boat.......800W 4 channel........then another 800W 4 channel to defcons on tower....Defons are OK but if you want loud put 6 X 9's on tower.

I sencond the suggestion for the 6x9's , the deafcons are nice but 6x9's would definately be louder, possibly cheaper. I might be reading this wrong but are you trying to run one amp in 2ohm out of one side and 4ohm out of the other. I've heard this is not good.

Adam,
That is what I was planning on doing. What kind of problems will I run into?

jansen 01-27-2005 10:54 AM

Anybody have some pictures of there custom installs?

Looking for some ideas.

How about a screen in the glove box? Thinking about haveing one fold down from the door on the glove box when it is opened, if there is enough space.
acurtis_ttu 01-27-2005 11:36 AM

Don't knwow exact problems, but if the 4channel amp is setup as 2- 2ch amps I would think it would be ok, if there circuitry is combined you could run into issues. Those fosgate amps will go into protection mode if it can't handle it.

Adam
I emailed Rockford Fosgates tech support and asked them if it is OK to use channels 1 & 2 at 4 ohms, while channels 3 & 4 are at 2 ohms?

They replied,
Yes, you can run the channels at different impedances, just make sure you don't go below 2 ohms.
This is a 23Lsv from the Nashville boat show of 2004. It has a 15in flip down with a 7in screen in the glove box.

Chris,
After thinking about it a little more, and now I knwo, but the amp is set up as 2-2channel amps

mike_t 01-28-2005 11:17 AM

Chris-

I have almost the same set up...RF8004 to tower w/ 530's and b60's, RF4004 to 4 Boston Coustic's in cockpit, and RF6001bd to JL 12w6v2 sub. So far it sounds good...I'm just finishing the sub install right now. I'll post pics on Mon when I get home. I'm also waiting the CMD4 and having trouble w/ info...Can't wait to hook up the ipod!

jansen 01-28-2005 11:28 AM

cbrown- that is exactly what I want to do to the glove box, thanks for the picture.

mike t- let me know if your happy with the mono amp/sub. JL is a option of mine, I'm just trying to save some money. I can get wholesale prices on both brands(and some others) through a freind. Originally I was going to do the W7 and a 1000/1, but I'm just not sure if spending more money is going to make that much of a difference in a boat.

(Message edited by JANSEN on January 28, 2005)
