is this brand the builder of the ski brendella?

eargasm 11-22-2007 11:18 AM

Calabria boats is formerly known as Ski Brendella. But Calabria is kinda like sister company to MB.(Mike Brendel).

hillbilly 11-22-2007 11:20 AM

I believe it was 2 brothers at first. Then had a falling out and split.

wakereviews 11-22-2007 11:54 AM

I'm pretty confident that Mike Brendel and the owner of Calabria are not brothers. I am also pretty sure that the guys who started Centurion, MB, Calabria and Malibu have all worked together in some of the above mentioned companies as well, namely Brendella and Centurion if I remember the stories correctly.

mike brendel and the ex owner of calabria started making ski brendella had a falling out and split thus creating calabria and mbsports mike brendel still owns mb but the owner of calabria sold to the stockholders and is know the owner of wakecraft. oh and no they arent realted at all.

Sam just curious why do you ask? I have owned bot Calabria and MB if you have any questions I could probably help?

swiggie 11-22-2007 2:18 PM

well i have a ski brendella and my neighbor bought a MB sports and he told that they were made by mike brendel so i wondered if there was any link to the two companies

poser007 11-22-2007 2:36 PM

Yeah I almost bought a 90 Ski Brendela from a friend a few years ago but went with a newer Pro V instead. I loved my Pro V but it did have somethings I didn't like. The back seats had screws going the wrong way and sometimes you would sit on them. I had to cut them off so we wouldnt get poked. I did like tha boat all around though. The balast system although only 700 lbs was awesome. I currently have an MB V23 and I love it. It's a very flashy boat and whatever lake i go to people are always comming up to us and freaking out about the looks of the boat. Anyway, have a great Thanksgiving and enjoy the Brendella

Roger Cruise & Bob Jessen are the owners of Calabria, and former business partners of Mike Brendel. They had a falling out & bought Mike out of the company. Mike took the name (Ski Brendella), and started MB with new partners. Take a look at the two makes a few years ago, very similar, especially things like the vents & speaker grills.

Since when does "Falling Out" really mean felony arrest and doing time?

rodltg2 11-23-2007 10:02 AM

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Now that's funny^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

tonality 11-29-2007 2:17 PM

Which one of them got arrested?!

bstphen24 11-29-2007 2:36 PM

I thought that alpina was the company that became calabria?

deltaboy 11-29-2007 10:31 PM

Take a wild guess Tony....

tonality 11-30-2007 12:45 PM

I'd only guess Brendel based on what Bocephus typically posts, but I honestly wouldn't know otherwise...what's the story there? Sounds juicy!

al_d 12-09-2007 6:20 AM

You can't leave us with half the story. <BR>What's the rest?

bocephus 12-10-2007 9:31 AM

Do your research, the information is out there. Most of the other boat builders know the story and will tell you if you ask them at the shows...Most of the pros know the story too. Lets just say, when it rains it snows...if you know what I mean. That silly white stuff gets lots of people in trouble...

rbeckei 12-10-2007 10:49 AM

Bocephus-----------What's the story?

05mobiuslsv 12-10-2007 12:44 PM

Riding them white horses really gets people in trouble sometimes right Bocephus..
