I just bought a inland surfer red tide today. they were running a great special of 270. How does everyone like it? I am a big guy 6'2" 250-260, they said this would be the board for me. Any feedback from people that are using it?

I have one. I bought it last year when I was first starting. It is a great cruzing board. I have since graduated to the yellow board which I love. It is a very fast board that I am now doing tricks with. I weigh 190lbs by the way. Anyway, a great board that is easy to ride. Good luck.

Let me know how the Red Tide works out. One of the guys in my crew is about your size, competes nationally in snow boarding events, he’s a skate boarder, and used to surf the Atlantic. Even with all that experience he can’t free ride given his weight on my boards on my wake.

What do you mean they were running a special?

Inland Surfer is going to send a demo board out to the Scioto Wakefest and they are going to donate a prize wakesurf board too. When the demo board gets here I’ll let you know how our big guy does.

Our big guy, goofy wake with Surf Switch in goofy position 1A.

Gary, you'll like the Red Tide. For being only 5'6" long it FEELS like a BIG BOARD. You'll be able to free ride it the first day, is my guess.

That board has 3.25" futures fins, which are pretty short compared to the typical 4" fins. Once you get your "surf legs" you'll be able to do floaters and with some effort (lots and lots of effort ) you can do a surface 3 on that board. As you progress, keep in mind - I swapped a pair of 2 inch fins that I had hand shaped and that loosened the board up quite a bit too.

Keep everyone posted on the progress you makee on that board. I think your situation is pretty common and your feedback on the board and your selection process would be helpful for others.

I got an email about that Inland Surfer special also. I’m tempted to pick up a yellow loogey even though I just got a Trickboardz that I love. It’s funny, I just bought my first board early this summer to give surfing a try and now I’m thinking about buying a 3rd. I’m addicted! I might have to try to sell my 5'6" Broadcast and pick up the yellow. Anyone interested?
