I'm thinking of renting a houseboat on McClure. I can't seem to get any decent info. from their website. Anyone here have any info. for me on the conditions and surroundings of McClure?

Only been there once. The lake isn't very big. The people at the marina took excellent care of their customers.

Thanks Charlie,
It looks decent size on the map. I guess I'll have to go check it out.

we rented a boat there last year and the people did take great care of us, I dont know if it was because the lake was so low but there was a deffinate bug problem.

If you eft somthing out like a drink there was meat bee's all over it in the morning, Just make sure you leave nothing out at night and you wont have any suprises in the morning

we had a great time there and didn't have any trouble with the boats. Get the big one... The hot tub on the roof is key. You can usually get good water there in the morning, although it gets pretty busy/blown out during the day on the weekends.

It's a really nice lake. During the week, it's stellar. You can usually find nice water all day. Weekends are a zoo as with all CA lakes.

There's plenty of water for a whole week on a HB without getting bored. Stop by and say hi to the boys at WestCoastCamps. They are located there.

Thanks for the info.

Grant, were the bees at a campsite, or did they find their way to your houseboat?

I think we are going to check it out on Sunday.

Barrets Cove Marina rents the boats. We had a Memorial Day Bash with a bunch of people from TheMalibuCrew and stayed on the Odyssey.

Here's the website http://houseboats.com/index.htm
