i rode my hyperlite scape 112 about 5 times in 1-2 weeks and i noticed that the wood at the front was separating it started extending into the board what should i do

kalenk 06-09-2008 10:11 AM

Throw it away and never look back. Hunt down a new deck. I would highly reccomend an Oak, New, or Sattelyte.

Poor quality boards are poor quality boards.

(Message edited by KalenK on June 09, 2008)

New makes some sick boards I'm riding the Mogley and F-ing love it

nchype 06-09-2008 7:00 PM

try the hyperlite composite decks
i ride the 2.0 and my boy rides the BT deck
both r really good decks

eviltweak 06-15-2008 10:02 AM

Thank you for the advise I am looking at the hypelite catalyst 07 model any comments

bac 06-15-2008 12:19 PM

My buddy rides an 07 catalyst, its a great board. He loves it, I haven't got to a chance to ride it yet. Its all composite and very strong. He rides it all the time

ethan31 06-15-2008 3:58 PM

I have a 05' catalyst with grip. Same shape as 06/07

Its a fun board, but I find it is a little narrow for me. I have size 13 feet and they hang a little at the tips. If it was 2 or 3 inches wider all the way through it would be a super sick board.

It pops decent and the concave really holds your feet in.

I have it for sale if your interested email me- ethan31@gmail.com

I have the 07 Catalyst and I love it. It is on boardersbestbuy.com today!!!!

kalenk 06-17-2008 8:59 AM

I really wouldn't recommend a catalyst. But if you wakeboard more than you skate you might like it.

eviltweak 06-17-2008 10:33 PM

i wake skate more i really want a composite board what would you recommend

kalenk 06-20-2008 8:54 AM

If you have the dollaz, pick up an integrity. You will not be disappointed, I promise.

wakemitch 06-20-2008 9:15 AM

Carson, if you want a composite deck integrity is the only way too go. amazing shape and feel and it doesnt ride like a cut down wakeboard.

eviltweak 06-20-2008 8:18 PM

i like the integrity but i dont have that kind of cash any other good boards that are cheper

wakemitch 06-20-2008 8:56 PM

you can pick up the team for 330 and it will last you for ever and ride amazing. other composite decks feel like poop and delaminate with winching and hitting rails. most have crazy huge sizes too.

kalenk 06-21-2008 6:42 AM

Composite is a good way to go, but don't let hyperlites shltty wood deck scare you away. You wont have the same problems with an oak.

eviltweak 06-21-2008 5:52 PM

is the catalyst 2.0 a good deck 07 and is the vinal a good deck

wakemitch 06-21-2008 7:40 PM

2.0 is decent but the vinyl is a boat.
how tall are you and what size feet?

eviltweak 06-21-2008 7:57 PM

im 59 and still growing i am about 110lbs and i where 10.5 size shoe

wakemitch 06-21-2008 9:40 PM

2.0 and vinyl will be huge for you.

i would recommend a 38-40" skate and you wont grow out of them so no worries.

nchype 06-22-2008 7:29 AM

im 5' 4'' and size 9 shoe and i diggin the 2.0
i ride bigger boards i have a really wide stands thats just my STYLE of riding, just shop around

nchype 06-22-2008 9:50 AM

figure out what works for you, there r tones of different boards out there

eviltweak 06-22-2008 10:01 PM

i love the freedom of being able to walk around on the board when i am doing different things

eviltweak 06-23-2008 11:12 PM

do you think a 112 is to big for me

wakemitch 06-24-2008 7:31 AM

yes.

112cm is 44.09" (HUGE)

even hyperyltes 107 is big (42.12")

Im saying all this because when i was your size i was talked into buying a 116 scape by a salesmen at a pro shop because he knew that i didnt know any better. i used that for a year. learned shuvs and eventunally gripped it which helped a lot. but it was just a huge board for me and was slow to respond. The next year i picked up a 41" deck and my riding improved so much and i progressed a lot.

eviltweak 06-24-2008 10:40 PM

so what is a good composite board that wont blow my wallet

wakemitch 06-25-2008 10:30 AM

Carson, LF was the 41 armada for 200.

mnwake45 06-28-2008 9:12 AM

Since you guys are talking about size a little bit and I don't know much about skate sizes but am looking into getting one this year, whats a good size for a 6 foot 160 pound person?
Sad to say (after reading this thread) I am looking at a Scape 116 since I found it for a hella good deal online, but I am wondering if that would be a decent size for someone like me? Obviously I'm not going to be too picky anyways since I'm pretty new to skating

wakemitch 06-28-2008 10:20 AM

Sam, its a 46" skate with super narrow tails.
It would be perfect if you were 7' with size 8 feet.

Get something between 40-42" and make sure the tails are wide enough for you.

eviltweak 07-01-2008 12:10 AM

can you feel the fins on the lf armada 41

kalenk 07-02-2008 8:47 AM

Carson, ride finless.

eviltweak 07-02-2008 7:45 PM

the armada has molded fins and regular fins

wakemitch 07-02-2008 7:54 PM

carson, you will feel them.

dlwsrider 07-02-2008 8:36 PM

Many times I have thought about jumping in this thread, but everytime I do, I look through it and go "Meh, Mitch has got it" and leave, lol.

wakemitch 07-02-2008 8:43 PM

but we need you caleb

the wakeskating section needs more regulars

dlwsrider 07-02-2008 8:47 PM

But you handle it so well!

It does. I stop in here alot, but there is never anything new, it's pretty sad.

How's your season going?
