I guess this is more of a speaker question. I currently have one set of Westsounds Pro 80 Speakers on my tower. I recently purchaed an NVS 1010 and was looking to trade for a Pro 485. Then I got to thinking, would it be totaly out of the question to mount the 1010's in the middle of my tower with the Pro 80's on the outside? Is there anything wrong with this other then they are not from the same manufacturer? Also what size Amp should I use for the NVS Speakers?

use whatever you want. You can easily adjust the new speakers to the same level as your pro 80 to get them to be about the same output in SPL.

dp. that would be cool. you would have the best of both worlds. i think the 1010's need close to 500 watts

500 watts to each side or 500 Watts total? Can you tell I'm not a stereo guy?

no just to the two 10's and horn. nvs 1010 is just 2 10 inch mid base and a horn. if you had a pair of 1010's you would need 1000 watts or close to. which means 4 10 inch mid bass ans two horns. play the nvs louder then the wetsounds so it will sound better. your system is only as strong as your weakest link" meaning wetsounds" im just messing with you, good luck

That 1010 with 500 watts will way over power yoru Pro 80's. I'm assuming yrou only running 150/200 watts to the 80's? You cna easily run 500-800 RMS to the 1010, and you may end up just dropping hte 80's unless you liek the added weight. That 1010 will probably produce 70/80% of the volume.

Im running 250 to each Pro 80. I was wondering with 6 speakers in the boat plus 2 12 in subs and the 1010's and Pro 80's 4 Ampos is this going to be a huge strain on my alternator? I had that problem with my last boat.

I used to run 5 amps in my old supra ( upgrade 105 amp alt) and as long as I recharged every time I was finshed using he boat I never ahd any issues.

I haev 4 amps in my new boat and my alt has no issues keeping up ( I have a 90 amp alt) roughly 1800 RMS going to 3 subs...I rarely dip past 14 volts. I'm running the new alpin PDX though.

LOL ahhh yeah thats gonna put some strain on the alternator. Most boats come with higher wattage alternators than cars but they are special marine alternators that do not create sparks. I am hoping that you have at least 2 batteries and a capacitator? Adding a third battery would help out if you dont already have it.
