I wouldn't call that a heater top, thats just a rashy with spf30

runin90lx 10-20-2012 5:14 PM

What is a rashy?

pnichols 10-20-2012 5:26 PM

Rash guard for surfing.

nuckledragger 10-20-2012 7:22 PM

You should find out from them how many millimeters the top is. If it is not at least 1.5mm it should not be considered a heater top.

Bill, I'm not sure how to classify that top. It's thicker than a rash guard, but thinner than a "heater top". And only 30SPF..most of my rashguards are 50+SPF. Sucker is expensive too!

BTW, we're hitting up Pirkey this weekend...you in? Facebook me.

Get Oneill, quicksilver, ripcurl, or jet pilot.

I have a 1.5mm O'neil heater top and I love it! I wear it all summer long.

I just picked up one of these bad boys off of Amazon. Super comfortable, but haven't had a chance to try it out yet other than sticking my arm under the faucet. not water entered in the faucet test.

60* water requires a 3/2 full wetsuit in my opinion.

runin90lx 10-21-2012 5:55 PM

water here is still 69-72...i will be winterizing the boat in the next couple of weeks most likely. so i think a heater top should get me by

If its in the 60's, i'm trunking it. Fullsuits don't come out until its into the 50's

yep. f that. We were out saturday. Water temp 68, outside temp mid 60s. 3/2 Wetsuit was feeling nice and cozy. Personally, I don't find the wetsuit to be all that restrictive. I don't see why people are so aprehensive to wear them.

I chose to not even go out Sunday am because it was air temps in high 60s water temps still in 80s lol so I waited until 3pm then went in the water

Didnt feel like wearing a heater top yet

Luckily our water during winter only gets to mid to high 60s at its coldest time.

i got the Jet pilot top i ordered in today. exactly how tight are these supposed to fit? i was borderline on the L and XL according to size chart so i went with a L since my oneil comp jacket is a L. the Jet pilot top fits tighter than my comp vest, and the arms come about 2" short of my wrist. if i pull it down as much as i can the bottom is about at the top of my shorts. but when i bend over it rides up some.

just curious if this is right fit, or if i should send it back and get an XL

10-24-2012 6:45 PM

My jet pilot is tight and is quite commical to watch me taking it off. But its water tight so I dont care

runin90lx 10-24-2012 6:50 PM

okay..well then sounds like i got the right size. my wife laughed for 5 min watching me try to get out of it like it was a straight-jacket haha
