Straight or Slightly Turned

I know this has been beat to death a few times and I always hold a straight line that is until this weekend. . . . . . . .

I went out this weekend in my Supreme V232 and a friends Calabria Pro V - both boats with about 2500 lbs and dialed in and since I was about the only boat in the water I decided to see what the wave looked like with a slight turn towards the wave - port side and what a difference. It totally cleaned up the surface of the wave and seemed to add drive in both boats. I just wanted to see if anybody else experienced this - I plan on puting a friends Avy in the water this week and see what it does.

If you put a slight turn into the wave it always seems to clean it up and make it a little bigger atleast on my boat, but we ride goofy and out here in AZ you have to drive counter clockwise around the lakes so its pointless. Been meaning to load the regular side and just ride backside but still teaching the fam how to surf so they don't need any more obstacles lol.

this might clean it up, but it also shortens the pocket IMO. I have a 04 Avy and drive straight.

It seemed to lengthen the pocked on both boats

Def cleans the wave up and lengthens it behind my 21v Launch with a slight turn toward the wave. However, one day I noticed a huge improvement with the boat turned slightly away from the wave....confusing.

Turning toward the wave will clean it up, but i think it will shorten it as well. My guess is that when you drop that Avy in the water, you will get a very clean wave driving it straight:)

Turning into the wave slightly adds some drive on my Sanger, and lengthens the pocket slightly. I use that to assist if an inexperienced rider is dropping back. (which would be everyone I know)
I can turn away from the wave some and still keep a good wake but it is the most consistent and easiest to just run straight.
If you keep turning in you eventually hit your own wake and that kind of messes up the ride.

We basically just turn a little when the rider starts to fall out of the pocket. Not fun to ride when turning behind our tige. Straight all the way.

Turning too much will take all the drive away but the wake looks nice.
