Clarion M309 good bad indifferent
 

Hey guys thinking about adding this to my boat what are your thoughts on it. Anyone have one.

I'm a dealer for Clarion, and sell a lot of the standard head units just like that. Controls are simple, ipod operation is simple, overall a real good head unit. Not worth the $350 that's listed for retail though. For that price point I prefer the Alpine, and the CDA-9886M or it's current replacement would be my first choice. The wired marine remotes for the Alpine are nice too.

What is the current replacement I found this one at amazon for the head unit wired remote and USB extension for right at 300. If I could get alpine around the same price say 100 more I would go that route.

I think I told you wrong. The standard CDA-9886 was replaced. They still show the CDA-9886M as being current.
You may be able to find both pieces for that price, just be careful if you're looking on the net. Try out some local places to see if any of them have it.
