Keep your elbows close to your body on the cut in.

Wait for the pop to spin. You should start your spin just before you reach the peak of your jump. If you keep your elbows in on the cut you won't have to do much other than rotating the handle to make the handle pass. Tie a rope to something while you are on land to practice.

(Message edited by blabel on September 26, 2003)

Jump first. Then pass the handle to spin. Pulling the handle should cause your spin, not hucking it off the wake. Once you get the handle, look for the boat.

Robert, blind 3,s is a bit more involved. practice landing blind first of course a nice trick in its own right. leaving the blind spin late and just wake to wake is the key. start making handle passes sooner rather than after landing. Because there are opposite forces involved in blind tricks its not just spin to initiate.

go up, initiate the blind 180 passing the handle which now is your back hand on the second 180. to initiate the last 180 push the handle to your front hip, or knee whilst looking for the boat.

reading the comments seems tro be for a regular 3 and not blind?

hope this makes sense

just curious, but why practice landing blind? you don't land blind on a blind 3...

on a blind 3 the last part of the rotation is a frontside turn. it's on a regular 3 that the last turn is blind.

you do more of a blind landing on a ts fs 3 than on a hs bs 3...

Chris starting with blind 180s gets you used to the opposite rotation and forces.

of course the second part of a blind 3 is frontside but the handle is in what is now your back hand after the handle pass. you land with the handle in your back hand on a blind 3 or is it just me???

Its a big step from a wrapped blind to a handle pass blind, having blind 180s down help

I think blind 180's are significantly harder and don't compare too much in my opinion. The blind 3 was one of the only tricks I landed my first try. I think the timing is totally different for the 180 vs the 3.

Just the way i learnt no offense.

blabel 09-27-2003 7:21 AM

I'm not saying you're wrong. It's obvious that we both learned them differently. If you are self taught like me, you probably understand that there are different ways to learn a trick. Either way if he tries our tips they should help.

yes i im self taught too.

hey why can we all be freinds

canaday 10-20-2003 11:43 AM

I land everything the first time I try it, unless I land it the second or third, or etc.

its easier to get the handle pass than a regular 3.. but the rope will only turn you 180 unlike a fs 3. so u gotta spin urself the last 180 justkinda throw yourself into it off the wake and u should get around
