Man vs. Woman in Street Brawl
 

So I step out on to the streets of San Jose 15 minutes ago for a snack. There's a little farmers market street fair thing going. as I approach, I see a 180lb man grab this little 100lb cranked out looking girl by the arm and say, "hey you stole my stuff, give it back and wait for the police."

The girl cocks back and clocks the guy in is jaw. A solid, closed fist, solid connection. As she draws back for another, he drops her. BOOM. She springs back up and comes at him again, and the two exchange a few fists. But mostly, he's trying to stop her from getting away.

There were a lot of upset people; pissed that he decked the girl. But when the police game, I was one of the few people/witnesses in the guys corner. Most people were appalled that he hit a girl.

The problem I have with that is, she hit first, and slowed no sign of backing down. She was still attacking.

So sometimes is it okay to hit a girl?

Yes. If you're gonna swing at me and repeatedly keep doing it, you're getting some knuckles to the jaw. I don't care if you're female or male, white or black or purple. Now if I could restrain her without hitting her, then I'd do that. but this woman sounds like she was pretty jacked up on mountain dew, or something.

Yes, if you have exhuasted other avenues of defense.

Been in the situation... Straight stack finger jam to the throat and she will spend the next 5 minutes gasping for air.
You'd be suprised how simple it is to put someone on their knees and beg you to stop.

Sounds like he was completing a citizens arrest for a theft he witnessed. Hopefully guy goes home, crankster goes to jail for strongarm robbery and not just simple theft

He was one of the street vendors. She stole from him, allegedly.

No time to pull out the iphone. You know, push the button, enter security code, find the camera app, wait 10 seconds for it to open :-)

Glad to see you were in his corner. Quite frankly it seems that all it takes to be in his corner was to tell the truth. In this case the truth speaks for itself. I don't think there is any discrimination in the law that says being a girl makes a difference.

So IMO the law says it's OK.

Where I grew up chicks could throw as good as the guys. My Mom taught me if a chick hits you.. you hit her back. She said if she wants to be man enough to hit a man she is man enough to get hit... Ive seen some chicks put a licking on guys before. Like seriously beat thier arse.

I would let one punch fly - if she keeps at it and/or is trying to steal my **** I think I would just try and tackle/subdue her. It would be tough to throw a legit punch at her but a bear hug and squeeze the piss out of her would be doable.

1. She stole from him.

2. She hit him first.

I say she got what she deserved

In California, I'd say it's not over yet. Just wait on the liberal lawyers to find out about this.
