I'm getting ready to purchase new board/bindings and I'm just curious to know where everyone buys their equipment. I'm always trying to find out who has the lowest prices and best deals. I've checked just about every website I could find and I think I've found the place but I figured I would check with others just to get an input on other places/websites and your experience with them, and to check out how low their prices are.

(Message edited by Wakeair on January 01, 2004)

The problem with Grizzly Sports is that he only carries Hyperlite. And we all know that Hyperlite isn't for everyone.

Check out www.glassandpowder.com. They have a great selection and their customer service is top notch!

I think everyone has their own personel favorite shop or website. In my opinion you should try to support your local shop as much as possible. I have made purchases at multiple different shops, websites, through private parties, and on e-bay. The only time i got somethng i wasnt happy with was through a major retailer ( sportChalet, sportmart, etc...)
When buying a product like a new board, or bindings i will always go to my local shop and talk to the sales person, try different stuff on get their opinions and whatever else you can get at a shop. The extra cost is worth it to me for this service. If im buying a video, line, or some other product that doesnt require as much research then i might look to some of the websites, or another route, but ussually just pick that stuff up when i go hang out with the guys at the local shops. I also think its unfair to go to your local shop and try on products, boards, and then go buy it off a website to save 20 bucks. (Im not saying anyone does this, just thought i would thorugh it in in case) If everyone did this then all our pro shops would disseapear, and i for one, kinda like going down from time to time and chilling in one of my local shops. It all comes down to you though. if you think you found what you want, at the best possible price; for all means go for it.
Geoff

Thanks for your input guys. I would buy from my local shop if there was one. I live in Ohio and I don't know of any board shops around here, so I have to resort to mail-order, which is the only way I can get anything. Most of the boat dealers I go to just have a few "beginner packages", if anything ( obviously because they are a boat dealer not a board shop). If there was a local shop I would definetely go there and buy ( with descent prices) because I would really like to check out the board/bindings and try on the bindings for size before I buy. Thats the problem with orderering from a website/mailorder. You get your bindings and find out that they are going too big then you have to deal with calling them and returning and exchanging and shipping charges and all that BS! Anyway, if anyone happens to know of some board shops in Ohio, let me know, especially if there is one between Columbus and Lake Erie.

Mid Ohio Nautiques is in New London. Which is just a shade north of Mansfield. Not sure if they carry anything other than Hyperlite, but it is a start, and they do carry other than beginner packages. Hope that helps. I am sure there are more. If you get either alliance or wakeboard magazine in the back sometimes they have a list of shops by state that carry their magazine..... It may help as well.
