Ballast pump question.

I am building a sprinkler system for one of my Fire Tech classes and need a pump that can sustain pressure lie how your house plumbing is. I think a house has are 50 psi. Will a normal ballast pump be able to handle water pressure or are they just designed to move alot of water.

I will be using one of my ballast bags as a water source with a pump to a set of small misting nozzles.

If my memory serves me - ballast pumps run around 5 to 8 psi, give or take. Certainly not as high as 50 psi.

High Volume, Low pressure. The pumps don't need to overcome anything more than a couple feet of head and a 3/4" restriction in most bags....

Okay thanks for the help. I actually just found a heavy duty pump rated at 40psi but a smaller 3/4" outlet.
