I'm heading up to shasta, going houseboating with a bunch of friends.. We are heading out of Lakehead Marina... Does anyone know where or names the party coves in that area...

Hey, Aaron:

Are you heading to Shasta for this holiday weekend? John and I too will be at Shasta this weekend on a houseboating trip. Maybe we will see you there.

Sorry I missed you this past weekend, sounds like you all had a great time.
|
Aaron, I'll be house boating there this weekend. There really aren't "Putah-Creek" type places on the lake. However, some times a good group hangs out at the waterfall. That's our favorite cove. Shoot me an email or pm me on GoWakin to discuss. For a massive party weekend at Shasta, go Memorial Day. Then, you can't miss the mass flotillas of college kids.

Yeah Matt... I went last year for Memorial day! off the hook it was real easy finding the college kids... loved the all girl boats too!!!! At that time... being one of the only wakeboard boat in that area with a loud stereo, made it easy to get 12 girls on my boat!!!!

Kimmy i'll shoot you an email!

I'll be on the Ensane Wakeboard School VLX, hucking myself through the air.

Migitty -
been to Shasta lots but never heard of/seen the "Waterfall" area. What arm and where in the arm is it?
Just curious - thanks.
John (Oregon)

The waterfall is up Little something arm, near the dam. The name escapes me now.

backbone
|
That's correct, Little Backbone, middle cove to the right of the damn. In between Dry Fork and Big Backbone. The waterfall is a half mile hike up the end of the cove. It's beautiful. You can slide down it like a waterslide. But be warned, the water in that cove is full of sharks and it will make you sick. Much worse than the Delta. But the rest of Shasta is 100% pristine.

They aren't very many party coves. It all depends on what you want to do there like if you want to hook up with a few locals most of there boats at docked at bridge bay. Sliverhtorn has ensane wakeboard school. and by shasta marine there are sliders step up. In the back coves you might find a few parties going on and on the McCloud arm. And the best spots to wakeboard are in the back of pit creek river
