Would this be a good beginner wakeboard?

http://www.overtons.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?i=13093&pdesc=Hydroslide_Black_Wid ow_Wakeboard_Package&cname=Mens-Wakeboards&aID=600C2&merchID=1009&r=vi ew

This will be my first board.

thats like a west marine special board. you should go to your local shop and talk to someone, they would be able to fit you with something that would work well for you. i wouldnt go with a hydroslide board.
I am personally a liquid force fan, so im goin to recommend them to you, but i know hyperlite also has some good beginner boards.

And remember, a beginner can ride a pro model board, its not going to hurt you in any,

Pro models are more specific on a single feature, while a beginer or intermediate board is designed to incorporate several features so that a new rider can find things they like in a board. The liquid fforce trip is a great board that anyone from beginner to advanced can ride, i would look into an 08 version of that, you can most likely find one semi cheap. and the 08 liquid force Alpha bindings are very comfortable and can be found fairly cheap. good luck

P.S. that line that that board comes with, its not a true wakeboard line, you want to find one that is zero stretch. that one is going to have some stretch in it. I personally like a coated line, but its all preference. and i wouldnt buy a handle online, your going to want to feel one before you buy it. One off the most popular handles on the market, i personally HATE. its all a preference thing.

I hope my posts helped

Yup, I don't think anyone on here will recommend a Hydroslide. Pick up an entry level package from a brand like Liquid Force, CWB, Hyperlite, Ronix etc.

I would suggest any of these (size dependent)...

http://boardersmall.com/xcart/product.php?productid=19994&cat=286&page=2

http://boardersmall.com/xcart/product.php?productid=20233&cat=325&page=3

http://boardersmall.com/xcart/product.php?productid=19827&cat=322&page=4

And I second the comment about that mainline/handle. Using a nonstretch line will help you progress faster.
any other questions just ask!

that second board that roddyrod posted would be a perfect set up. that will last you for a long long time. and when it comes to lines, im very fond of the accurate A line. its Awesome in every way.
|
BTW where do you live?
|
I live in Eastern KY, I have to order everything from the net, No shops around here except for Daves Sporting goods
|
o okay, thats a bummer. i would go with that second pacage. the trip is a great board, and those bidings are decent to. how much do you weigh? size is pretty important.
|
how much do you weigh and what size shoe?
|
I weigh 200 and size 11.5
|
I would go bigger then a 138, I would go 141cm and up.
|
they don't offer that package in a 141 cm plus board, so would 138 be ok or should i go larger?
TY for all your help
|
Get a board you can get in at least a 140 otherwise you will regret it later. The Trip isn't the only board out there...

http://boardersmall.com/xcart/product.php?productid=20235&cat=325&page=3

I have to correct myself, So this size board in the trip. I like the designs on it also, it's really all I have to go on since I don't know Jack Crap about boards
|
The pure is a great board to start with and i think its very underrated as a board for anyone. I say go with the pure/torq package.
|
I agree Pure 141cm/Torq package
|
im not a fan of CWB bindings, i dont like the hinge. it does make them really easy to get into. but they feel weird after you tighten them down.
just my oppinion though.

i still say go with the trip. ive seen pro riders ride one, and my sister who can just cut around has one.
|
I say the pure/torq or the trip/index package comes in a 142
|
I ordered the Trip 142 today, the main factor between the 2 was the price. I know it was only 60 bucks, but its 60 bucks i saved for something else.

Thanks for all your help and input. It was very much appreciated !!!!
|
awesome. let us know if you like it once you get it. have fun!
|
I still got to learn to get up on a consistent basis LOL

|
it took me quite a while to figure out how to get up. but there will come a point where it just clicks, then you will get up every time. it just takes some practice.
