I'm pretty new to wakeboarding and want to purchase a couple of wakeboards. The first one is for me.

I'm 195 lbs, 5'10, and wear a size 9.5 shoe.

What would be a few decent board to buy? I'm looking to pick something up used.

The other board will be used for women between 120-150 lbs.

Thanks in advance.

Check the WW board section and look for a board with molded in fins as well as removable center fins. (Though most decent boards do, some do not.) Everyone has their favorite brands, it's just personal preference. Size wise, 140 or more will work for you and 130 or so for the ladies. Once you have an idea, look for last year's models at the local shops or online stores (wakeside, wakespace, evogear, dwcboardshop, etc.) Or scan the ads on WW or anywhere else.

Try to demo if possible from a store to get a real idea of how it rides for your ability...

More info surely to come from future posters...

Why used? I got a brand new obrien player (2006) and link bindinds for about $170 shipped to my door off ebay.

I could buy new at that price. I'm just lost as to what a decent board would be.

look into the liquid force alpha... i got one (they're cheaper 2007 than 2006 or around the same price)

my 06 has been great! i just road it today but get the binding your size, i remember when i started riding it hurt so bad because my bindings were tight, i was gonna move up but you can loosen them by putting a bottle of toe jam (basically a smaller, hard lotion bottle) and it'll wear in your bindings a little more so less pain while riding!

my friend has a liquid force trip and he likes that... check out the board reviews at this website or at wakeboarder.com
