How much video time with audio can get on a DVD? I'm thinking about getting into video editing, also if you add music, does that cut down on your total time? I know a DVD holds 4.7 GB of data, but I just wanted know what that is in video time.

It all depends on the type of compression and the amount of compression. You can get an hour of very high quality video, a couple of hours of good looking video or four hours of crappy lookin video.

that is true, if it is avi format expect to get like 25-35 minutes, but you can easily get a little over an hour in other formats, just play around with and you will figure it all out.

(Message edited by jonb on May 28, 2004)
