Hey guys i just got my xs-650s in for my malibu and the stock speaker holes are to small for the wet sounds and i was just curious to know how you guys trimmed the holes to make the speakers fit, especially the dash holes.

Find the correct hole saw for the new ones and the one for that matches the current hole couple them together and it will trim out perfect.

just did an 04 vlx. used a roto zip. you will have to do the top plastic and the fiberglass under it as well. hole saw wont really work as there is nothing to center it with. i had to do the same thing to my tige when i went with the wetsounds. roto zip works well just take your time and have a vacum close.

had to do the same thing on my Malibu.... just took a dremel with the round edge sander tip and sanded around the hole until it was big enough to fit..... nothing like chopping up a 2 week old boat. <IMG SRC="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/happy.gif" ALT=":-)" BORDER=0>

be careful with the dremel, they spin so fast and with just a littel pressure will pratically melt thru the gel/fiberglass. Use a shop vac, like someone mentioned. I just used a pencil to mark the line to increase my speaker holes.

The hole saws actually work perfectly well the small one fits in the pre exsisting hole as a guide while the other hole saw cuts the new appropriatly sized hole. Get it?

Then you have to buy two hole saws. They seem to run close to $50 each at that size. I think it would be great if we had a loaner that would pass from wakeworlder to wakeworlder for a small fee. <BR> <BR>I ended up using the rotozip and that worked pretty well. Much better after I broke a bit and got a new one. Make sure to use a sharp bit. <BR> <BR>Wetsounds is genius, you will never be able to use another 6.5 inch speaker in there again, once the hole is too large, unless you like fiberglass work.

USE A DREMEL OR SMALL AIRSAW. NEVER USE A HOLESAW IF THE HOLE IS ALL READY CUT.

The hole saw's worked like a champ for my new ARC Audio components!
