I was out on my lake boarding and we were getting ready for our forth run. Everything was going fine and when I went to start the boat, nothing happened. I mean nothing. Well, the radio turned on, but the horn, blower, or bilge pump didn't do anything. I thought it might be the alternator. What do you think?

Check your ground.

you sure you were in neutral

reset your breaker

Breaker, fuse or bad ground. It's not Your alternator. My guess is Your Radio still works because it's wired directly to the battery.

Also check the connections at the starter as often that is where the power comes from.

We had this happen recently, blew a fuse. Check all your fuses.

Do Nautys have a neutral saftey switch? My X-2 had the same problem. Sometimes you have to rattle the throttle.

The neutral switch will stop the motor from cranking but it won’t affect the bilge pump or the horn.

Reset your breaker! Happened to me too! Didn't find it until the morning, and had to be pulled in the night before!

happened my Supreme too at Lake Havasu.. thought we were screwed. The motor would not even turn over. Turned out it was the red emergency shut off switch on the dash (with the little coily cord hooked to it). If you pulled it out all the way it was fine, but let go of it to where it's suppose to normally be positioned, and everything shuts off. Another Warranty item for me after summer is offically over.

Update: I finally got down to my boat and was hoping to fix it. I opened the engine cover, hit the ignition button, blower, and turned the key. The boat started right up. So, what's the problem? Will this happen again?

Is your ignition switch worn out? <BR>My friends 87 nauti does this all the time, sometimes it takes a little while, there may be a dead spot on the starter or the solenoid does not engage. It deals with the starter, or wiring to the starter... and it is random
